The training course is for researchers, theorists, critics; young writers, journalists, editors from press agencies, publishing houses, Literature and Arts Associations; lecturers in the fields of culture, literature and arts from universities and colleges. The training course takes place from July 25 to July 28.
Speaking at the opening of the training course, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Vice President of the Central Council of Theory, said: This training course for young theoretical and critical thinkers is the 9th class in a series of activities organized by the Central Council of Theory, with the goal of building and nurturing a team of successors who are solid in theory, sharp in expertise, have political courage and are passionate about the country's literary and artistic career.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh emphasized that 2025 is an important year to implement the urgent requirements from the country's development practice, clearly oriented in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, which is to build and develop cultural industries. Therefore, the Organizing Committee of the training course decided to choose the theme of the 9th Training Course as "Vietnamese Literature and Arts with the promotion of national identity in building and developing cultural industries".
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh hopes that students will focus their intelligence, deeply and comprehensively grasp the content of the topics, and proactively and actively participate in discussions and exchanges to clarify theoretical issues, boldly propose new ideas and new perspectives from practical work. Linking theory and practice, turning equipped theories into sharp thinking tools to analyze and evaluate literary and artistic phenomena in life, effectively serving professional work. He also hopes that students need to increase exchanges, connections, and build a network of young theorists and critics across the country to share, support and develop together.
In his welcoming speech, comrade Pham Quang Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, stated: The new Ninh Binh province after the merger has formed a rich and diverse cultural region with historical depth, unique cultural identity and great potential for cultural industry development. With a long history and cultural tradition, through the cultural creations of previous generations over thousands of years, Ninh Binh province has left a rich, diverse and valuable cultural heritage system.
Ninh Binh currently has 5,071 inventoried relics, of which 1,106 have been ranked (1 world cultural and natural heritage, 8 special national relics, 264 national relics and 834 provincial relics). Ninh Binh currently owns thousands of intangible cultural heritages of all types, of which 39 have been listed in the list of national intangible cultural heritages, 1 heritage has been included in the list of Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (Practice of worshipping the Mother Goddesses of the Three Realms of the Vietnamese people).
In the context of current socio-economic development, the cultural industry has become one of the key economic sectors, contributing to shaping the identity, enhancing the soft power of the nation and promoting sustainable development. The formation of Ninh Binh province has created a large geographical and cultural space, converging many valuable tangible and intangible cultural values. At the same time, this is also a key tourist center, playing a role in connecting the region in the cultural industry development strategy of the Red River Delta region and the whole country.
For the new Ninh Binh province, the expanded area includes the three former provinces of Ninh Binh, Ha Nam and Nam Dinh. The development of cultural industry associated with the preservation and promotion of cultural identity is not only an inevitable trend but also a way to promote the long-standing, rich and unique cultural potential of this land. With its available advantages and potentials, Ninh Binh province identifies cultural industry as a new growth driver, creating a breakthrough in socio-economic development. At the same time, it is an important tool to preserve and develop cultural industry into a spearhead economic sector; linking development with preservation, linking tradition with creativity and linking local identity with global trends.
At the training course, students learned many topics such as: National identity in literature and arts from a theoretical and critical perspective (Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen The Ky); Digital art criticism and multimedia communication: New opportunities to spread Vietnamese cultural values (Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Hoai Anh); Developing cultural industry in a national, advanced and modern direction in the fields of cinema and theater (Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan; Dr. Director Bui Nhu Lai); Marketization of art and the issue of preserving and promoting national identity: The role of those working in theory and criticism (Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi My Liem); Training a team of young theorists and critics with the task of developing the cultural industry (Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh)... In addition, students also combined theoretical learning with visiting some historical sites of the province such as: Hoa Lu Ancient Capital; Kinh Thien Altar...
