Floodwaters are rising on the Cai Phan Rang River.

According to the 3:30 PM bulletin on November 18th from the Khanh Hoa Provincial Meteorological and Hydrological Station, over the past 12 hours, the flood level on the upper reaches of the Cai Phan Rang River at the Tan My station has been rising slowly, approximately at alarm level 2, while the flood level on the Dinh Ninh Hoa River and other rivers in the province has decreased below alarm level 1.

Specifically, the water levels at the stations at 3 PM on November 18th were as follows:

On the Cai Phan Rang River, at the Tan My hydrological station, the water level is 36.44m, 0.06m below alarm level 2; at the Phan Rang hydrological station, it is 2.1m, 0.4m below alarm level 1.

On the Dinh River in Ninh Hoa, at the Duc My station, the water level is 15.75m, 0.25m above alarm level 1; at the Ninh Hoa hydrological station, it is 4.03m, 0.4m below alarm level 1.

On the Cai River in Nha Trang, the water level at the Dong Trang hydrological station is 5.5m, 2.5m below alarm level 1, and at the Dien Phu station it is 3.91m, 0.59m below alarm level 1.

Forecasts for the next 24 hours indicate that flood levels on the Cai Phan Rang River will continue to rise, peaking on November 19th. The peak flood level at the Tan My hydrological station will be 1.5-2m above alarm level 3, while at the Phan Rang hydrological station it will be 0.4-0.8m below alarm level 3. Flood levels on other rivers in the province will rise again, peaking at alarm levels 2-3, with some rivers exceeding alarm level 3.

Authorities warn that widespread flooding is likely to occur in communes within the river basins. There is a risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas; the impact of rain and floods on the safety of reservoirs; and flooding in downstream areas, riverside areas, and urban areas in the downstream regions of rivers in Khanh Hoa province. Caution is needed when crossing spillways. Flooding can have adverse environmental impacts, threaten people's lives, and cause localized traffic congestion, affecting the movement of vehicles.
