According to Ms. Ma En Hang - Vice Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, in the supervision work, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has issued a plan for social supervision and criticism in 2024; Plan to implement the Project of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Executive Committee on promoting the role of social supervision and criticism, participating in Party and government building of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations in 2024; at the same time, directing the Fatherland Front at all levels to continue promoting the supervisory role at the grassroots level.
In 2024, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province organized 299 supervisions, of which the provincial Fatherland Front organized 5 supervisions, the district level organized 41, and the commune level organized 253. The supervision content focused on the implementation of legal provisions on environmental protection and climate change response in Bao Thang district and monitoring the implementation of the law on anti-corruption for a number of basic construction investment projects in Bao Yen district; monitoring the settlement of complaints and denunciations and receiving citizens for the Chairman of the District People's Committee in 9/9 districts, towns, and cities...
Along with that, the People's Inspection Committees and Community Investment Supervision Committees in the province have promoted their roles well, focusing on supervising a number of construction projects affecting the community; supervising the mobilization of support for relief, distribution of necessities to support people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters... thereby promoting the supervisory role in implementing public investment projects at the grassroots level, promptly detecting a number of shortcomings, limitations, and making recommendations to improve the quality and efficiency of investment projects at the grassroots level.
In Ta Van commune (Sa Pa town), to put the project of upgrading and expanding the traffic roads in the commune into operation soon, the Investment Supervision Board of the commune community is regularly present at the construction site to monitor and supervise the construction units. The members of the Board also actively listen to the opinions of the people at the project construction sites. Mr. Ma Van An - Head of the Investment Supervision Board of the Ta Van commune community said that from the opinions of the people, the members of the Investment Supervision Board of the community directly came to monitor and supervise, ensuring that the items of the project were constructed according to technical standards; at the same time, they made recommendations and submitted documents to the competent authorities to handle the existing problems, thereby helping the functional sectors direct the construction units to carry out the projects to ensure the right progress and quality.
Along with supervision, social criticism work has also been promoted by the Lao Cai Provincial Fatherland Front. In 2024, the Fatherland Front from the province to the grassroots level organized 25 social criticism conferences, in which the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee organized a conference to criticize the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Resolution regulating policies on attracting, treating, and supporting human resource training in Lao Cai province for the period 2021-2025. At the criticism conferences, many comments and contributions were made and participated in accordance with the actual situation, which were accepted by the drafting agencies for consideration and appropriate revision. To continue improving the quality of social supervision and criticism, in the coming time, the Lao Cai Provincial Fatherland Front will continue to preside over and coordinate with socio -political organizations to select appropriate content, objects, and forms, develop plans, and effectively implement social supervision and criticism activities. At the same time, promote the role of the people, especially self-management groups, the People's Inspection Committee, and the Community Investment Supervision Committee in supervision activities at the grassroots level, strengthen supervision of the implementation of social security work, and the implementation of programs and projects at the grassroots level directly related to the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the people.
