Fresh paddy prices decreased, while rice prices increased.

Rice prices in the Mekong Delta region fluctuated today, March 6th. Market volume was low, raw rice prices edged up slightly, while prices for some types of fresh paddy reversed and decreased.


Rice prices in the Mekong Delta region today, March 6, 2025, remained relatively stable. Prices of raw rice varieties edged up slightly, while the prices of some fresh paddy rice varieties decreased compared to yesterday.

Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current prices are as follows: OM 18 rice (fresh) decreased by 200 VND/kg, fluctuating between 6,300 and 6,400 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) decreased by 200 VND/kg, fluctuating between 6,300 and 6,400 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice (fresh) fluctuates between 5,700 and 5,900 VND/kg; IR 50404 rice (fresh) fluctuates between 5,500 and 5,600 VND/kg; OM 380 rice (fresh) fluctuates between 5,000 and 5,200 VND/kg; Nhat rice is at 7,800 to 8,000 VND/kg; and Nang Hoa 9 rice is at 9,200 VND/kg.

Observations in many localities today show a better supply and more active trading. In Kien Giang , there is good demand for fragrant rice, IR50404, with steady trading and a slight increase in fragrant rice prices. In Hau Giang, there is plenty of rice for sale, but trading is slow and rice prices are relatively stable.

In Long An , demand for fragrant rice is high, transactions are stable, and prices remain steady. In An Giang, farmers are offering higher prices in some areas, and buying and selling transactions are consistent. In Dong Thap, farmers are offering slightly higher prices for good quality rice, transactions are at a good level, and prices for all types of rice are relatively stable.

Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the price of raw OM 380 rice has increased by 50 VND/kg, fluctuating between 7,850 and 8,000 VND/kg; raw IR 504 rice has increased by 50 VND/kg, fluctuating between 8,150 and 8,200 VND/kg; raw OM 18 rice fluctuates between 9,300 and 9,500 VND/kg; raw 5451 rice fluctuates between 8,500 and 8,600 VND/kg; finished OM 380 rice fluctuates between 8,800 and 9,000 VND/kg; and finished IR 504 rice fluctuates between 9,500 and 9,700 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, prices range from approximately 5,550 to 7,300 VND/kg. Currently, the price of fragrant broken rice is fluctuating between 7,100 and 7,300 VND/kg; broken rice (3-4 grades) has increased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating between 6,400 and 6,600 VND/kg; and the price of dry rice bran is fluctuating between 5,550 and 5,700 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Observations in various localities today show a fairly good supply and relatively stable prices. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the supply is low, with fragrant and sticky rice mainly coming from Cambodia, and the prices of other types of raw rice fluctuating slightly. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the supply is better, with steady buying and selling transactions, but the quality of the rice has slightly decreased due to waiting for drying.

In Sa Dec market (Dong Thap province), rice supplies to the docks are higher than before, prices of all types of rice remain stable, and warehouses are buying steadily. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang province), supplies are moderate, prices are stable, and transactions remain slow, with most buyers opting for premium quality rice.

At retail markets, the prices of all types of rice remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice is listed highest at 28,000 VND/kg; regular rice fluctuates between 15,000 - 16,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice fluctuates between 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates between 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is at 22,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is 21,000 VND/kg; common white rice is at 17,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice fluctuates around 18,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 21,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.

On the market, the price of Vietnamese export rice remained unchanged today compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price of 5% broken rice is 389 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is 364 USD/ton; and 100% broken rice is 307 USD/ton.
