Following a period of establishing a steering committee, linking and strengthening the business community in the area, in early February, the Dien Ban Bac Ward Business and Creative Startup Association held its first General Assembly for the 2026-2031 term, marking an important turning point in the socio -economic life of the locality.
According to Mr. Pham Khac Thinh, Chairman of the Business and Innovation Startup Association of Dien Ban Bac Ward, the city's innovation and startup ecosystem is gradually taking shape in a fairly synchronized manner, with the participation of the government, businesses, educational and training institutions, research institutes, and support organizations.
Numerous investment networking programs, innovation forums, startup festivals, incubation programs, and acceleration programs are regularly implemented. Startup projects have access to capital, management knowledge, technology, and markets. This provides a practical foundation for the association to learn from and apply to the situation in the ward.
At the same time, the Ban Thach Ward Business and Startup Association launched its office near the ward's People's Committee headquarters. Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thao, the association's president, said the office serves as a place for members to meet, network, receive training, and connect with resources.
In 2026, the association will focus on strengthening its organization, recruiting 50 more members; supporting members in improving their products, striving to have at least 5 products certified under the OCOP program; and organizing training courses on management, e-commerce, and brand building. The association will also promote trade, link product consumption, and maintain charitable activities linked to community responsibility.
From the initial steps, the formation of associations and startup offices at the grassroots level has created a regular meeting space for the business community. Stories about capital, markets, legal procedures, and digital transformation are exchanged directly, bridging the gap between ideas and practice. At the ward level, this connection is flexible, timely, and tailored to the specific characteristics of each area.
Government support
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Chau, Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Dien Ban Bac Ward, the ward currently has approximately 130 businesses, branches, representative offices, cooperatives, and 265 individual business households in operation. In addition, hundreds of individuals conduct business through e-commerce platforms. Trade and services play a leading role in the local economic structure.
In the context of the increasing number of businesses and individuals starting up, establishing a socio-professional organization to act as a focal point for connecting, supporting, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the business community is considered an essential requirement.
“The local authorities are committed to supporting businesses. We aim to reduce the time required for administrative procedures by at least 30%. Quarterly, the leaders of the ward People's Committee will directly chair dialogues to listen to and resolve difficulties. Information on planning, land use, and the city's startup support packages will be made public so that businesses can access it fairly,” Ms. Chau affirmed.
In Quang Phu ward, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee, stated that entrepreneurship and business development are always important driving forces in the local development strategy, especially in the context of integration and digital transformation. Building upon the foundation of the previous entrepreneurship movement, Quang Phu ward has identified the development of a business ecosystem as a key task that needs to be implemented regularly.
The ward continues to expand its membership network, build the association's culture and brand; invite experts to support new ideas, provide guidance on management, marketing, and digital transformation; and advise on legal procedures to enhance the competitiveness of businesses.
Mr. Le Son Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, stated that this year is designated as the year to strengthen the depth of the innovation and startup ecosystem. The Department continues to coordinate with other departments, agencies, localities, training institutions, and startup support organizations to implement synchronized programs and policies. Universities, colleges, innovation centers, and incubators play a crucial role in training human resources and nurturing ideas. The business community and startups are the direct force in bringing ideas into production and business.
One of the key tasks is to build innovation spaces in wards and communes, so that startup activities are closely linked to local life, creating conditions for each creative idea to be nurtured at the grassroots level and gradually develop sustainably within the city's overall ecosystem.
