When capital finds its true value

The Da Nang Venture and Angel Investment Forum - DAVAS 2026 left a strong impression, as technological ideas were not only heard but also found opportunities to enter the global market.

Launchpad for startups

DAVAS 2026 is considered the largest ever, bringing together more than 30 renowned investors and investment funds from countries such as Singapore, Japan, South Korea, the United States, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Notably, it features prestigious international investment funds such as Quest Ventures, Do Ventures, ThinkZone Ventures, Antler, and Daiwa Corporate Investment, along with over 120 experts and speakers, and more than 70 domestic and international partners supporting startups.

This year, the organizers focused on selecting startups with high growth potential in leading global technology trends such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, Web3, fintech, healthtech, edtech, greentech, deeptech, robotics, and the digital economy . Of the 62 projects participating in the funding round, 43 were from Vietnam, 9 from Singapore, 5 from South Korea, 3 from Dubai, along with representatives from the United States and Ukraine.

Mr. Tran Xuan Moi, Founder of ATM Technology Development Company, said that he had participated in DAVAS in various roles, but this year is his first time participating as an innovative startup business.

“I found DAVAS 2026 to be large-scale and well-organized, with close support from city agencies and units. The forum has created a powerful launching pad, helping startups directly access quality investment opportunities. If businesses operate in isolation without integrating into this ecosystem, they will waste a lot of time searching for opportunities. More importantly, through DAVAS, startups will understand the ‘appetite’ of international investment funds, thereby shaping their direction and strengthening their confidence,” Mr. Moi shared.

Mr. Duong Ngoc Anh, founder of the "Caromi" cassava noodle brand, which made its mark at the SURF Pitching Competition 2018, brings a surprising transformation to DAVAS 2026 with a rental ecosystem project supported by artificial intelligence (AI).

“At DAVAS this time, we didn't have high expectations for immediate fundraising, because this is a completely new technology model. However, the greatest value we received was the opportunity to connect the community, especially foreigners living in Vietnam. They need to find or rent houses but don't have access to reliable information channels, wasting time going through brokers... When they heard our solution, they highly appreciated it and hoped the project would be implemented soon so they could find quality apartments that meet their needs,” Mr. Anh said.

Practical values

At DAVAS 2026, Summit Capital Fund decided to invest $300,000 in the 5Sao project of FiveSS Technology Joint Stock Company. The cooperation agreement between the two parties was signed and exchanged at the closing ceremony of the forum.

Commenting on the deal, Ms. Vo Thi Kim Oanh, Director of Summit Capital Fund, said that 5Sao is a technology platform specializing in home repair services, connecting contractors, providing construction solutions, and creating jobs. From the smallest needs like repairing light bulbs, air conditioners, and refrigerators to purchasing interior furnishings, the project provides safe, fast, and cost-effective solutions for people.

“We have been closely following 5Sao since the 2024 and 2025 forums. The impressive growth figures and breakthroughs of the project are not limited to domestic competitions but are ready to expand internationally. That is the decisive factor for Summit Capital to invest,” Ms. Oanh shared.

Mr. Tran Xuan Moi shared that at this year's forum, he participated in a fundraising presentation to attract more paying users to the platform, creating resources for the business to go further.

"Technology companies must be self-reliant to develop, but to do so, they absolutely need additional resources to support them. No matter how good a product is, if it's not communicated, promoted, or known to the public, it will just sit idle," Mr. Moi said.

According to Mr. Moi, that proactive approach has yielded positive results. Besides numerous high-quality meetings with partners, ATM and the Institute for Technology Training and Digital Transformation Research (AVG) have signed a cooperation agreement to implement research. This is a highly practical outcome achieved right within the forum's space.

The practical value of DAVAS 2026 was affirmed when many innovative startups, investment funds, and partners signed cooperation agreements to develop future projects. In addition to the cooperation agreement between Summit Capital Fund and FiveSS Technology JSC, DAVAS 2026 also saw IP-Foundation joining the Danang Fintech Lab (DFL24) as a member, enjoying full benefits of the future International Finance Center in Danang (VIFC Danang).

Director of the Department of Science and Technology, Nguyen Thanh Hong, emphasized that DAVAS 2026 is not only an investment networking event but also creates a space for open dialogue between the government, investors, technology businesses, and the innovation community. Through this, Da Nang affirms its role as a new meeting point for the regional investment community. The city is committed to continuing to support the innovation community with a proactive and constructive spirit; aiming to build a livable, investment-friendly, and startup-friendly city in Asia.
