According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, approximately 85% of accommodation establishments in the coastal area have been booked, a 10% increase compared to last year. The occupancy rate for the entire system is estimated at 65%, with 4-5 star establishments reaching about 75%, and the area along the Han River and the coast reaching up to 95%.

The occupancy rate for 3-star hotels is approximately 55%, with the central area estimated at over 60%. Tourists are mainly concentrated in central and coastal wards such as An Hai, Son Tra, Hai Chau, Hoa Cuong, etc.

Many travel and accommodation establishments in Da Nang believe that this year's fireworks display has a special appeal for tourists.

Mr. Pham Thanh Long, General Director of Elite 24 Joint Stock Company (Da Nang), shared that although he has been involved with the festival for many years, this is the first time he has clearly felt the strong attraction before the opening night.

Elite Hotel and its partners in the city center proactively implemented early reception procedures; currently, most rooms are fully booked, but they continue to receive reservation requests.

In the Son Tra area, the situation is even more tense, even though some establishments have adjusted their room rates upwards by over 40% to accommodate guests during the fireworks nights.

The city's security forces and traffic police have announced the completion of traffic diversion and regulation plans for key areas along the coast, the Han River, and the city center. This plan aims to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow for residents and tourists on the opening night of DIFF 2026.

In recent days, authorities have intensified patrols and issued warnings at crowded areas, especially those with many international tourists. Areas surrounding the fireworks display sites, parking lots, and public spaces are all being closely monitored.

Any incidents of unruly behavior by tourists are dealt with strictly to ensure security and order. The atmosphere of excitement in preparation for the opening night fireworks display permeates the entire city.

Commenting on the preparations, Ms. Nadia Shakira Wong, CEO of Global2000 (a fireworks consulting firm), remarked: “I believe few fireworks festivals are as well-organized as DIFF. Even the world-famous Montreal Festival doesn't have a grandstand system or an impressive performance stage like the one in Da Nang.”

Providing more experiences

For the DIFF 2026 Organizing Committee, the goal is not just the opening night, but maintaining stability and vibrancy throughout several weeks. Therefore, the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proactively coordinated with Sun Group and local businesses to implement various support plans.

A series of local cultural events will be held after the opening night, promising to offer visitors profound and authentic experiences that will truly captivate them during DIFF 2026.

First and foremost are the modern technological applications and activities for exploring Da Nang for tourists. On the opening night, the audience will showcase the Sun Paradise Land application with digital interactive games.

Visitors will receive exciting "digital gifts" such as postage stamps and AI-powered electronic postcards to send messages to loved ones. At the same time, the audience themselves will become ambassadors promoting the vibrant fireworks display by sharing moments of the performance through a creative online space right from the stands.

Mr. Liang Weiming, Captain of the Chinese fireworks team, expressed: “DIFF affirms its position as a world-class festival, so we are determined to bring the best technological achievements.”

These are never-before-seen devices and many new shooting techniques for the audience to witness firsthand, thereby gaining a better understanding of Eastern culture in general and Chinese culture in particular.”

More importantly, following the fireworks displays, DIFF 2026 promises to offer impressive accommodation options and a series of events. These include exploring Da Nang's urban landscape with the Craft Beer Festival at the Ariyana International Convention Center, experiencing European-style cuisine at Ba Na Hills, and the upcoming "Enjoy Da Nang" festival…

"By partnering with DIFF, tourists and locals will have more options to enjoy local life, especially the diverse and profound cultural values throughout their stay," emphasized a representative from the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center.

According to data from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as of now, approximately 145,138 visitors have registered to visit entertainment venues during the DIFF 2026, a 20% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Of these, the number of international visitors reached 82,960, a 29% increase compared to the same period last year.
