
Attending the opening ceremony, on the international side were the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam, Ito Naoko, and his wife; representatives from the Consulates General of the People's Republic of China, the Russian Federation, Japan, and South Korea in Da Nang .
Representing Da Nang City were Central Committee member, Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Head of the National Assembly Delegation for Da Nang City, Le Ngoc Quang; Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Nguyen Dinh Vinh; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Council, Nguyen Duc Dung; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Committee, Nguyen Manh Hung; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Ngo Xuan Thang, along with other members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized that Da Nang city is entering a vibrant summer season with a series of domestic and international economic , cultural, sports, and tourism events, welcoming tourists and friends from all over the world to this beautiful coastal city.
To become an increasingly attractive destination for tourists and investors, Da Nang has embarked on a new development journey – building a modern city with rich identity, humane people, and a high quality of life.

“Da Nang is very proud that the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival has been selected by the prestigious travel magazine Travel + Leisure as one of the 9 most worthwhile summer festivals on the planet. This is a recognition from the international community for the attractiveness, scale, artistry, and reach of an event bearing the Vietnamese brand. DIFF 2026, themed “Da Nang - Connecting Horizons,” reflects the city's desire for a dynamic image, a place connecting culture, tourism, creativity, and international cooperation. The six nights of fireworks displays will be six pieces telling the story of Da Nang connecting with the world through the themes: “Nature,” “Heritage,” “Culture,” “Creativity,” “Vision,” and the final night, “Connecting Horizons,”,” said Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Manh Hung.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City emphasized that throughout its development journey, Da Nang has always received attention, support, and companionship from the Central Government, other localities, and friends both domestically and internationally. This is a tremendous source of strength that helps Da Nang realize its goals.

To encourage and acknowledge the efforts of the two fireworks teams participating in the opening night with the theme "Nature," Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Head of the DIFF 2026 Organizing Committee, presented commemorative plaques to the Da Nang (Vietnam) and China fireworks teams.
Following the opening night, subsequent competitions will take place every Saturday evening.
June 6th: France - Z121 Vina Pyrotech, Vietnam, with the theme "Heritage".
June 13th: Japan vs. Italy with the theme "Culture".
June 20th: Germany - Macau (China) with the theme "Creativity".
June 27th: Australia vs. Portugal with the theme "Vision".
July 11th: The grand finale with the theme "Connecting Horizons".
