Favorite destination

For a long time, South Korea has been a key international tourist market for Da Nang. Korean tourists love the city because of its convenient flight routes, pleasant climate, beautiful beaches, and diverse range of leisure, culinary , and entertainment experiences.

Many South Korean tourists have expressed their admiration for the friendliness and hospitality of the people of Da Nang , along with the increasingly improved quality of tourism services. The professionally developed hotel and resort system, offering diverse experiences, is also a reason why many tourists choose to return to the city with family and friends after their first visits.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first four months of the year, the number of South Korean tourists visiting Da Nang reached over 823,000, accounting for 21.75% of the total number of international tourists to the city.

In addition to promotional activities aimed at attracting international tourists to Da Nang, the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam is also organizing a series of large-scale tourism promotion workshops in the form of business-to-business (B2B) networking. This is an opportunity for tourism and travel agencies in Vietnam and Korea to strengthen cooperation, expand exchanges, and develop more new tourism products.

The Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam has updated its support policies to promote package tours for individual travelers, as well as incentive travel and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism. This includes expanding support areas to include K-Culture, local airports, charter flights, sports, and products connecting Vietnam and Korea's heritage sites. These activities are being implemented to boost the peak tourism season starting in July 2026.

For the MICE tourism segment, in addition to support packages from Korean businesses, the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam proactively implements support policies specifically for Vietnamese travel agencies; closely coordinating with online travel platforms (OTAs) to provide valuable privileges, making tourists' journeys easier and more economical.

Expanding tourism cooperation

Ms. Park Eun Jung, Chief Representative of the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam, shared that in recent years, Da Nang has become one of the favorite destinations for Korean tourists and is also a strategic market highly valued by the Korean tourism industry. Recently, tourism exchanges between Korea and Vietnam have consistently recorded high growth rates.

“Vietnam has always been a top priority market for Korean tourism. Through promotional activities, seminars, and advertising campaigns, we not only want to strengthen connections between Vietnamese and Korean tourism businesses but also commit to providing maximum support to Vietnamese travel companies with practical policies, strongly promoting bilateral tourism exchanges between Vietnam and Korea in the future,” Ms. Park Eun Jung shared.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, there are currently four regular flight routes from Incheon, Busan, Daegu, and Cheongju (South Korea) to Da Nang, operated by 13 domestic and international airlines. This also provides a favorable foundation for promoting trade and cultural exchanges between the two sides.

However, given the impact of the global economic situation and rising aviation operating costs, in order to continue attracting Korean tourists, regulatory agencies, airlines, travel businesses, and tourism partners from both sides need to further strengthen exchanges, coordination, and jointly implement effective solutions to maintain market stability and develop a sustainable source of tourists.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, the Da Nang tourism industry will organize a series of tourism promotion activities in South Korea from June 28th to July 4th, 2026, including: a Gala to promote Da Nang tourism in South Korea in 2026; a booth promoting Da Nang culture and tourism at the Daegu Chicken and Beer Festival; and the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with the Busan Tourism Bureau with the goal of strengthening tourism cooperation between Da Nang and Korean localities.

In addition, it is necessary to strengthen the promotion, maintenance, and development of flight routes, and boost tourist exchanges in the coming time, contributing to strengthening connectivity and expanding business cooperation opportunities between tourism businesses of both sides.
