From Thanh Son Multi-Specialty Clinic

Throughout his 34 years in the military, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Son not only treated and saved lives but also instilled a spirit of medical ethics, discipline, and exemplary conduct in younger officers and soldiers. Many thought that after years of dedication and leaving a part of his body on the battlefield, he would choose a life of ease and comfort upon retirement. For him, however, being alive meant continuing to "fight," to do something useful for society.

After a period of preparation, Thanh Son Multi-Specialty Clinic officially opened in 2015. “Looking back now, I realize how reckless I was, because when I left the army, my wife and I had almost nothing. To have this spacious five-story facility with modern equipment, costing over 20 billion VND, I poured all my savings into it, borrowed from the bank, and mobilized relatives, friends, and fellow soldiers… each contributing a little. But I still believed that soldiers like us would succeed, so I couldn't stop when the country still needed me and the people needed high-quality medical services in a context where public hospitals were overloaded,” Mr. Son shared.

In 2024, building on his success, he boldly invested in upgrading the clinic, equipping it with a 6D ultrasound machine with artificial intelligence, an automated biochemical analyzer, an X-ray machine, and modern dental treatment equipment...

Currently, the clinic has a total of 52 staff members, including 17 associate professors, PhDs, specialists (level II), and masters; and 33 bachelors and nurses, all with stable incomes. The clinic's average annual revenue exceeds 10 billion VND. Notably, he always prioritizes recruiting war veterans, former soldiers, and children of meritorious individuals to work in various positions within the clinic.

To social charity activities

As a member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Entrepreneurs Association and Chairman of the Hue City Veterans Entrepreneurs Association, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son has always proactively connected with, encouraged, and motivated members to boost production and business, develop the economy , and create jobs for society. Currently, the Association has 170 members in the fields of livestock farming, aquaculture, healthcare, and services, providing stable employment for over 6,000 local workers.

From 2015 to the present, he has allocated profits from Thanh Son Clinic to support the construction of four "Comrades' Houses," worth over 200 million VND; at the same time, he has organized dozens of free medical examination and treatment sessions, and donated gifts to war veterans, wounded and sick soldiers, policy beneficiary families, and the poor... with a total value of hundreds of millions of VND per session.

For his contributions over the years, businessman, veteran, and doctor Nguyen Thanh Son has received numerous awards from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association, the People's Committee of Hue City, and other levels; he was elected as a delegate to the National Emulation Congress; he is a model example of studying and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh during the 2021-2023 period; and he was praised and honored by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the National Conference of Outstanding Exemplars on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation. In 2025, the Hue City Veterans Association proposed awarding him the title of "Exemplary Citizen" of Hue City for the year 2024.

He rarely talks about himself, but always about his comrades, about the veterans who are still facing difficulties, and about his aspirations and plans for the future. He sees his personal success as a springboard to spread good things and inspire the next generation, those who will continue the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the nation-building process today.

At the 6th Hue City Patriotic Emulation Congress (2025 - 2030), Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son had the honor of representing over 20,000 war veterans and was awarded a certificate of commendation by the Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee.
