"Settling down and establishing a livelihood" is a difficult dream to realize for many people from poor households, those in difficult circumstances, and lonely individuals without support... To realize this dream, in recent times, the Red Cross at all levels in the province has intensified propaganda and mobilized resources from organizations, businesses, and philanthropists. As a result, many charitable houses have been built, contributing to helping families stabilize their lives and confidently develop their economy .

Mr. Pham Van La's family in Quang Lac village, Duc Hop commune, is in extremely difficult circumstances. Their old, dilapidated house was in poor condition and unsafe. Thanks to the connection facilitated by the Provincial Red Cross Society, his family received 100 million VND (in two installments: one at the start of construction and one after completion) to build a new house from the "Safe Roof" project of the Habitat for Humanity organization. Mr. La was moved, saying: "Due to our difficult circumstances, building a sturdy house was just a dream for my family. With the help of the local government, the Red Cross societies at all levels, and the Habitat for Humanity organization, that dream has now become a reality."
As a disabled, single mother, Ms. Bui Thi Nham in Binh Nguyen commune has no income and lives dependent on monthly social welfare benefits.
For many years, Mrs. Nham lived in an old, dilapidated single-story house. In 2025, she received 60 million VND in support from the Provincial Red Cross Society to "settle down." In her new house, still smelling of fresh paint, Mrs. Nham's eyes shone with joy: "With this sturdy new house, I no longer have to worry when it rains heavily or is very windy. If it weren't for the help of the Red Cross societies at all levels, I don't know when I would have had a new house to live in."
Visiting the family of Mr. Pham Van Them in Bac Thai Ninh commune, we could clearly feel his radiant happiness at having a sturdy and cozy home. Mr. Them is in poor health, unable to work, and his life has been difficult and impoverished. Sympathizing with his family's situation, the Red Cross branches at all levels have supported and connected with benefactors to raise a total of 105 million VND along with many meaningful gifts to help build a loving home for Mr. Them's family.
It's difficult to fully express the joy and happiness of disadvantaged families who have realized their dream of owning a home. For them, a house built with the love and sharing of the entire community is a source of encouragement to confidently strive for a more prosperous and fulfilling life. Acting as a bridge in humanitarian activities, over the years, Red Cross branches at all levels, along with benefactors, have repaired and built many houses. To ensure that mobilized resources are used fairly, for the right purpose, and for the right people in the right circumstances, the Red Cross branches coordinate with local authorities to review and compile a public and transparent list. Those selected for financial support to build or repair houses are families in particularly difficult circumstances, including: poor households, near-poor households, elderly people living alone, victims of Agent Orange, disabled students, and families severely affected by natural disasters, storms, and floods. In 2025, with heartfelt dedication and persistent collective effort, Red Cross branches at all levels in the province supported the construction and renovation of 180 houses with a total support value of nearly 12.6 billion VND.

Mr. Duong Van On, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society, said: "Providing financial support for building and repairing houses is one of the key activities implemented by Red Cross societies at all levels in the province to help families with particularly difficult circumstances have stable housing. The effectiveness of the activity is demonstrated through improving living conditions, helping disadvantaged families escape from living in temporary, dilapidated houses; spreading the spirit of compassion, and attracting the participation of the community. In the coming time, the Provincial Red Cross Society will continue to promote the dissemination of the humanitarian value of the activity to all levels of the people; review and compile a list of families facing housing difficulties to develop support plans. Actively call upon and mobilize organizations, businesses, and philanthropists inside and outside the province to support the program with funding..."
