According to MEN , Mainoo is working hard at Carrington. He even changed his personal chef to have a more reasonable diet and hired a personal trainer during the September team training session to improve his fitness and skills.

Previously, coach Ruben Amorim said about Mainoo's case: "I trust Kobbie a lot. He is a good player, but not perfect. With Kobbie, talent alone is not enough. I want to push him further, and that is why sometimes I am more strict than usual."

Mainoo’s persistence may soon be rewarded. Casemiro is suspended and Manuel Ugarte has been unconvincing, so the Premier League match against Brentford on 27 September will be an opportunity for Mainoo to return to the starting line-up.

In the 2023/24 season, Mainoo was considered a big discovery when he continuously shone in Erik ten Hag's squad, even scoring and winning the best player award in the FA Cup final. However, since Amorim took over in November 2024, life at Old Trafford has become much more difficult for Mainoo.
