The "Bringing Love to Avuong - Spring Volunteer Program 2026," organized by the Youth Union of Da Nang University of Architecture in Avuong and Hung Son communes, attracted more than 330 lecturers, students, and volunteers to participate in volunteer activities during the Lunar New Year of the Horse. The program emphasized the spirit of community service and strongly spread the spirit of mutual support and compassion, aiming to bring a warm Tet holiday to the people in the highlands.

Participating in the program, student Le Anh Kiet (3rd year, Architecture major) said: “Visiting the Co Tu people here was a very special occasion and left many memorable memories. The trip helped me become more sociable, more confident, and appreciate the good things in life even more.”

According to Ngo Tuan Anh, Secretary of the Youth Union of Da Nang University of Architecture, the Youth Union chose Avuong and Hung Son communes because 95% of the population there are Co Tu people, and their living conditions and infrastructure are still very difficult. Therefore, the Youth Union coordinated with various units and organizations to raise over 461 million VND for the program.

All the funds were allocated to practical projects such as installing 500m of solar-powered streetlights, repainting houses for needy families, and painting murals; as well as organizing the making of traditional rice cakes, donating hundreds of Tet gifts to disadvantaged households and students, and organizing a "zero-cost" spring market with 100 shopping vouchers…

In addition, the school's Trade Union provided three packages of teaching and learning equipment to three schools in Avuong commune and Vo Chi Cong High School in Hung Son commune, with a total value of 130 million VND. "The school's Trade Union hopes that, through this program, the people of Avuong and Hung Son communes will have a happier and more fulfilling Tet holiday."

"At the same time, this gives students the opportunity to gain more knowledge and experience the spirit of sharing and empathy with those in difficult circumstances," said Ngo Tuan Anh.

Secretary of the Youth Union of Avương Bling Vơn commune expressed that the gifts from the Youth Union of Da Nang University of Architecture have given the local people and students more motivation to be more confident in life. In the future, the locality hopes to continue receiving love and support from units and organizations to improve the lives of the people and the learning and living conditions for students.

Sharing that same spirit and meaning, the Youth Union of Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports organized the "Spring of Love" program in Arich village, Song Kon commune. This program is an annual activity that the university's Youth Union has maintained for over 10 years, contributing to the education of social responsibility among students.

Bui Dang Toan, Secretary of the Youth Union of Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports, shared that the program was organized to create opportunities for students to participate in volunteer activities during Tet to promote a spirit of community service and to join hands in caring for disadvantaged people and children from ethnic minority communities.

During the program, the school delegation donated 113 gift packages to disadvantaged families, totaling 113 million VND; donated 100 warm jackets and 52 gift packages to students of A Ting Primary School; and visited and presented gifts to 5 families receiving social welfare benefits and elderly people living alone in the commune. “In addition, we organized a zero-cost market offering essential goods so that people could personally choose the items they needed.”

At the same time, the students made handmade items for children and organized cultural exchange activities, bonfires, etc. Through this program, we hope that each gift given is not only material but also a source of faith and motivation for the people and children in the highlands to celebrate a warm Tet holiday with their families and gradually build a more stable life,” Mr. Bui Dang Toan shared.
