Marvel and Random House have teamed up to release a series of adult novels about superheroes in the Marvel "universe." The series is called What If…? and each book tells the story of a superhero in different branches of the multiverse - a concept that the company has introduced in many comics and movies over the years.
In 2024, the series will release its first book about the trickster god Loki, titled What If… Loki was worthy? A Loki and Valkyrie Story by Madeleine Roux on March 12, 2024. There will only be three novels released next year, besides the Loki story, the other two are What If… Wanda Maximoff and Peter Parker were siblings? A Scarlet Witch and Spider-Man Story by Seanan McGuire in July 2024 and What If… Marc Spetor was a host to Venom? A Moon Knight and Venom Story by Mike Chen in October 2024.

In August 2021, Marvel introduced to the small screen audience the very interesting superhero animated series What If...? , each episode is a reality in the vast multiverse, where superheroes tell their own stories. This is a television series adapted from the comic book series of the same name by Marvel Comics, which debuted in 1977.
Each novel is a story that will surprise readers by writing about the lives of superheroes in a different direction than what they have seen before on screen. At the same time, Marvel emphasized that this latest series of novels will completely renew the way of telling stories about the multiverse that has been told in the movie.
