Cao Lanh route plan

Báo Xây dựngBáo Xây dựng07/01/2025

The presence of three houses built between 1939 and 1941 with old, difficult-to-assess materials has made the appraisal process challenging.

On January 7th, in an interview with a reporter from Giao Thong Newspaper, Mr. Le Van Chau, Deputy Director of the Project Management and Land Development Board of Vinh Thanh District, Can Tho City, stated that land clearance for the Cao Lan - Lo Te route is facing difficulties.

Currently, one of the three houses is hindering the progress of land handover for the Cao Lãnh - Lộ Tẻ project.

Accordingly, the Cao Lanh - Lo Te route through Can Tho requires land clearance for the intersection with the Lo Te - Rach Soi route in Vinh Long hamlet, Vinh Trinh commune, Vinh Thanh district. Nineteen households are affected, requiring the allocation of six resettlement plots. The estimated compensation cost for the land clearance for the project is approximately 66 billion VND.

To date, the People's Committee of Vinh Thanh district has completed the land clearance for 1.6 hectares, with four cases still facing difficulties due to three houses built during the period of 1939-1941 , and the remaining house being affected by a small portion of its area.

One of the three houses was built between 1939 and 1941. Over time, the house has undergone numerous repairs and renovations.

"These houses are built with fired bricks, timber, and other materials... they are very sturdy and many of the materials are not within the price range approved by the city. We had to hire an independent unit to assess and prepare the cost estimate, which took a lot of time," Mr. Chau said.

Mr. Chau also stated that these three houses were built in the style of old landlord houses and are currently used for ancestral worship by the homeowner, while their descendants all live abroad. This is also the reason why the compensation process has encountered considerable difficulties.

"Currently, these houses are being assessed, and we will hand over the land for the project in the first quarter of 2025," Mr. Chau said.
