Russian troops have closed in on villages on the outskirts of the two bordering cities of Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka and given them the opportunity to conduct street battles.

TASS news agency, citing Russian military expert Andrei Marochko, said that the shock troops of the Russian Army Group Center (RFAF) approached the city of Pokrovsk from the south. After capturing the village of Zverevo, the Russian troops began to break through to the neighboring villages of Leontovichi and Troyanda. The Russian Ministry of Defense also officially announced that the RFAF Center Group had taken control of the village of Zverevo the day before. However, at the same time, the RFAF's spearhead made a breakthrough and took control of two more important villages, Leontovichi and Troyanda.
Pershe Travnya is actually part of Pokrovsk, from where there are many small roads to easily access the southern part of the city; and the village of Troyanda is also located on the outskirts of Pokrovsk. Therefore, it can be said that the Russian army has started fighting in the city of Pokrovsk. This is not to mention the Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups that are constantly operating there. The day before, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that the RFAF Center Group had captured the important strongholds of Novoekonomicheskoe east of Mirnograd and Zverevo south of Pokrovsk, and had begun advancing into the Pokrovsk-Mirnograd region. The next morning, there were reports that Russian troops had entered Mirnograd from Novoekonomicheskoe, but no further details were available. Mr. Marochko also said that in the “rocky” area northeast of Pokrovsk-Mirnograd, after the Central Army Group captured Novotoretske, the Russian troops did not “take advantage of the victory” to advance towards the city of Druzhkovka, but instead turned back towards the town of Rodinske. Currently, fierce fighting is taking place in the village of Fyodorovka. Marochko analyzed that the shock units of the Central Army Group have moved from Novotoretske to the west and southwest, continuing to encircle the city of Pokrovsk-Mirnograd. Currently, fighting is taking place in Fyodorovka, the capture of which would allow the Russian troops to approach the Krasnolimanskaya coal mine from another direction. At the Krasnolimanskaya mine and the town of Rodinske, the Ukrainian army (AFU), based on the waste rock dumps of the mining process (circled in red on the map), built strong defensive positions; therefore, it is difficult for the RFAF to destroy them with conventional weapons.
Behind the Krasnolimanskaya mine is the town of Rodinske, through which the main supplies for the Ukrainian garrison in Pokrovsk-Mirnograd passed, RFAF fire control on the route was established, but the RFAF needed direct control. After capturing Novotoretske, the Russian army is now fiercely attacking Fedorovka. Overall, the Russian army is moving southwest towards the strategic town of Rodinske. This is a strategic position, if the Russian army can control this position, it will control almost the entire logistical supply line for Pokrovsk-Mirnograd. As of today, the encirclement of Pokrovsk and Mirnograd continues, from the east, Russian troops have penetrated into the rear of the Ukrainian army, from the west, the encirclement has expanded into Dnepropetrovsk province. At the same time, deep reconnaissance groups of the RFAF regularly operate in the city of Pokrovsk. And in the direction of the neighboring city of Pokrovsk is Kostiantynivka, where the shock units of the RFAF Southern Group of Forces not only took complete control of the Yablonivka stronghold, but also immediately broke through the Ukrainian defense line in the village of Aleksandro-Kalinovo. The village of Yablonivka stretches from the east, blocking the western end of the Kleban-Byk reservoir. Units of the 33rd Berlin Don Cossack Motorized Rifle Regiment, 20th Guards Motorized Rifle Division, of the Southern Army Group demonstrated outstanding combat ability in overrunning this stronghold.
The Russian attack on Yablonivka was not easy, because the AFU organized a tight defense here, when the Russians attacked, the Ukrainians fiercely resisted. During the fighting, the AFU continuously sent reinforcements here, but were defeated and destroyed. After that, the remnants of the AFU units in Yablonovka retreated towards Aleksandro-Kalinovo. However, when the Ukrainian army withdrew from Yablonovka to Aleksandro-Kalinovo, before they could consolidate their defensive position, the 33rd RFAF Motorized Infantry Regiment quickly moved 10 km, penetrated deep into Aleksandro-Kalinovo and immediately organized an opening, capturing the bridgehead. Due to the distance from Aleksandro-Kalinovo to Yablonovka, the Ukrainians apparently did not expect the RFAF to launch an immediate attack, and were unable to hold their positions. Ukrainian attempts to counterattack and consolidate their positions at both Aleksandro-Kalinovo and Yablonivka were unsuccessful.
The breakthrough of the Russian troops and Aleksandro-Kalinovo is a continuous continuation of the offensive after Yablonovka and does not give the Ukrainians a chance to rest, the Russian units continue to develop their successes, moving forward. The organized resistance of the AFU on this line has finally been broken. (photo source Military Review, Liveuamap, Rybar, Kyiv Post).
