Without pursuing loud artistic pronouncements, "Color of Sunshine" was formed from the empathy of artists who share a love for painting, sculpture, and practical creative trips. In 2022, the members painted together in Cao Bang , then continued with a week of creative work in Tan Son (Phu Tho). These days spent together, observing nature, people, and life, created a natural bond between the artists. After much discussion, the name "Color of Sunshine" was chosen as a meeting point, evoking the nuances of painting while also conveying a warm, open spirit, in harmony with the visual language of sculpture.
The "Sunny Colors" group currently comprises six artists: Vu Thanh Yen, Hoang Ngoc Ha, Luu Thanh Lan, Dinh Khac Cong, Pham Thanh Diep, and Le Ngoc Huyen. Six personalities with different educational backgrounds and six unique perspectives on life, yet united by a spirit of appreciation for creativity and mutual admiration. This is precisely the beauty of "Sunny Colors," the beauty in diversity.
Artist Vu Thanh Yen, former lecturer at Hanoi College of Art and a graduate of the Hanoi University of Industrial Fine Arts, is a familiar face in the world of lacquer painting. In her paintings, traditional lacquer is explored using a rich and emotional color palette, focusing on themes close to the relationship between humans and nature. Vu Thanh Yen's artistic space is often profound, feminine, quiet, and warm. At this exhibition, viewers will have the opportunity to enjoy Vu Thanh Yen's skillful lacquer paintings through works such as "The Window," "Two Friends," and "Still Life"...

A graduate of the University of Industrial Fine Arts, artist Dinh Khac Cong brings to the exhibition lacquer landscapes rich in charm and romance, such as "Homeland River Melody" and "Early Morning Sunlight on the Village"... His paintings do not focus on showcasing technique, but rather evoke a sense of tranquility in the face of the scenery. There, the depth, sheen, and durability of the lacquer material seem to be used to preserve the peaceful moments of nature.

A graduate of the University of Theatre and Film, and the niece of painter Hoang Tich Chu, artist Hoang Ngoc Ha specializes in silk painting and has established her own unique style. On the soft, luxurious silk material, she stylizes the beauty of nature with a feminine, delicate sensibility, imbued with a contemporary feel. Her creations not only achieve visual impact but also evoke profound emotions about nature, women, and inner life, as expressed in works such as "Tears of Jade," "Oh, Color," etc.

Sculptor Luu Thanh Lan, a graduate of the 33rd class of the Vietnam Fine Arts University and currently a lecturer in the Architecture Department at Phuong Dong University, contributes a concise and expressive visual language to "Color of Sunshine." For her, sculpture is not just about creating forms, but also about compressing emotions and messages. Luu Thanh Lan's works focus on love, connection, and inner states, expressed through a powerful yet not rigid language.
At this exhibition, Luu Thanh Lan has revitalized abstract motifs on satin and enamel materials through works such as "Festival Day," "Family," etc. At the same time, she has shifted from lyrical realism to expressionism, while still retaining her characteristic femininity.

A fellow graduate of the 33rd class of the Vietnam Fine Arts University, artist Le Ngoc Huyen brings to the exhibition paintings that evoke nostalgia for the young women of Hanoi. It's a gentle, ethereal world where the beauty of women is placed within the realm of memory, within the elegance of Hanoi, as expressed in works such as "Early Morning at the City Gate," "Female Poet," "Red Summer," etc. Her paintings possess a softness and serenity, as if holding onto seemingly fragile yet enduring beauty in the urban consciousness.

The youngest in the group, artist Pham Thanh Diep, a graduate of the Central University of Arts Education, is currently a junior high school teacher in Thai Binh. Using traditional Vietnamese dó paper, Pham Thanh Diep offers a pure and innocent perspective on the highland landscape, particularly the feeling of sunlight, open spaces, and the gentle beauty of nature, expressed through works such as "Spring in Northwest Vietnam," "An Long Village," etc., with carefully selected and refined brushstrokes.
What is valuable about "Sunlight Colors" is the enduring spirit of the group. The members have defined this as a long-term artistic collaboration, limited to six people, including men, women, painters, and sculptors... This richness creates the exhibition's unique character: not imposing a common style, but rather a resonance of creative personalities.
Therefore, this exhibition can be seen as a meeting of different "sunlight colors." There is sunlight deeply embedded in lacquer, soft sunlight on silk, clear sunlight on dó paper, or sunlight concentrated into sculptural forms. From landscapes, young women, and nature to symbols of love, each artist chooses their own path, but all aim to awaken aesthetic emotions in the viewer.
In today's art scene, independent artist groups like "Sunlight Colors" demonstrate a commendable need: the need for companionship to go further on the creative path. Therefore, the exhibition is not only a place to showcase artwork, but also a milestone of artistic friendship, perseverance, and faith in creativity.
With "Sunny Colors" in 2026, the public has the opportunity to reconnect with a group of artists who have journeyed together for years, accumulating more experience, emotions, and new creations. In the familiar space of the 16 Ngo Quyen Exhibition House, different shades of painting and sculpture come together to speak a common language: the language of beauty, of love for nature, people, and life.
The exhibition will take place from May 10 to 19, 2026, on the 2nd floor of the Exhibition House, 16 Ngo Quyen Street, Hanoi.
