The Mazda CX-8 high-chassis SUV is being heavily discounted by dealers, competing with formidable rivals such as the Hyundai SantaFe.
At the beginning of 2023, the auto market was quite quiet due to many different reasons. However, car manufacturers and dealers have also come up with solutions to stimulate demand, of which car discounts are one of the programs being applied to many car models.
Notably, the high-chassis SUV model, Mazda CX-8, is currently heavily discounted up to 90 million VND.
Car dealers are implementing many incentive programs to stimulate the car market.
Specifically, Mazda CX-8 2.5L Luxury and Premium are discounted by 80 million VND, down to 999 million VND and 1.089 billion VND respectively.
Currently in the Vietnamese market, Mazda CX-8 is competing directly with Kia Sorento and Hyundai SantaFe. After these subsidies, Mazda CX-8 is considered more accessible than its competitors. However, in the price range, CX-8 also has to compete with names like Toyota Fortuner , Ford Everest , Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Isuzu mu-X.
In terms of design, the Mazda CX-8 is larger than the CX-5 and has a 7-seat configuration. All versions of the CX-8 are equipped with a 2.5L Skyactiv-G engine with front-wheel or four-wheel drive. In terms of equipment, the Mazda CX-8 uses many high-quality materials and options that are somewhat similar to its younger brother, the CX-5.
According to a report by the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) and TC Motor, sales of the entire D-segment SUV segment decreased, except for the Sorento, which increased compared to the previous month. Specifically, the total number of D-segment high-chassis vehicles sold was 1,575 units, 1,387 units less than the last month of 2022.
Of which, Ford Everest is the model with the lowest decrease compared to the previous month, only 28.2%, equivalent to 770 units sold in January, leading the segment. Maintaining the second position, Hyundai SantaFe sold 323 units, down 627 units compared to December 2022, equivalent to a decrease of 66%.
After SantaFe, Toyota Fortuner is in third place with 191 cars sold in January 2023, down 273 cars compared to the end of 2022. And 156 cars are the sales of Mazda CX-8, ranking 4th in the segment.
In the first month of 2023, Kia Sorento sold 120 cars, 9 more than in December 2022, ranking 5th.
