After a 3-4 defeat to Orlando City in the Florida derby, Inter Miami quickly bounced back with a convincing victory over Toronto. In Canada, Lionel Messi continued to be the center of attention with his outstanding performance, helping the pink-clad team close in on the top spot in the MLS Eastern Conference.
Inter Miami started proactively and scored the opening goal just before halftime. Rodrigo De Paul, a close teammate of Messi in the Argentine national team, unleashed a volley from outside the penalty area after his own free kick bounced off the wall. This goal gave the visitors a crucial advantage going into the second half.

In the 56th minute, Messi made his first significant contribution with a delicate one-touch pass, creating an opportunity for Luis Suarez to break through and coolly finish, making the score 2-0. Then, in the 73rd minute, the Argentine superstar continued his impressive form by assisting Sergio Reguilon to score his first MLS goal.
Just two minutes later, Messi himself put his name on the scoresheet. He threaded a pass to De Paul, who raced down the right wing before receiving a low cross, controlling it neatly, and finishing with a powerful left-footed shot to make it 4-0 for Inter Miami.
This goal helped Messi surpass Sebastian Giovinco, becoming the fastest player to reach 100 goal contributions in MLS regular season history. He needed only 64 games to achieve this milestone, with 59 goals and 41 assists since joining Inter Miami.
Toronto staged a strong comeback at the end of the game thanks to a brace from Aristizabal in the 82nd and 90th minutes, but Inter Miami held firm during the 11 minutes of added time to secure the victory.
