The weather system causing the rain is a convergence zone of winds still located in the Northeast region, and its strong activity will cause prolonged rain for the next two days. In particular, tonight and on May 21st will see heavier rain.

The forecast indicates total rainfall from now until May 21st in Northern Vietnam, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An will generally range from 50-150mm, with some areas receiving over 300mm.

Due to heavy rainfall, there is a high risk of flooding, flash floods, and landslides.

Today's weather from Ha Tinh to Lam Dong will be hot and humid during the day, with maximum temperatures ranging from 30-34 degrees Celsius. Showers and thunderstorms are expected in the late afternoon and evening.

In the Southern region, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening, with some areas experiencing moderate to heavy rain. During thunderstorms, be wary of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind.

- The area from Ha Tinh to Da Nang City and the eastern parts of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak: Widespread heatwaves are likely to occur from approximately May 23-27.

- Other areas: Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected on the night of May 21st, with some areas experiencing heavy to very heavy rain; the rain will then subside.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.
