According to information from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment , this morning in Beijing (China), Minister Tran Duc Thang and the Deputy Director General of the General Administration of Customs of China signed a protocol on the export of fresh jackfruit .

During his visit to China from November 26-28, Minister Tran Duc Thang held a working meeting this morning with the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC), represented by Deputy Director General Zhao Zenglian.
Mr. Trieu Tang Lien stated that bilateral agricultural trade in 2025 shows many positive signs. As of the end of October 2025, China had imported $8.7 billion worth of Vietnamese agricultural products . This visit demonstrates the effective cooperation between the two countries, including cooperation between the Ministry and GACC. The cooperative relationship between the two sides will develop further, especially in economic , social, and bilateral trade relations.
This year, we have signed four protocols on the export of chili peppers, passion fruit, rice bran, and raw bird's nests. The protocol on the export of fresh jackfruit will create new momentum in the development of agricultural trade between the two countries.
Minister Tran Duc Thang also expressed his pleasure at working with GACC and affirmed that the cooperative relationship between the two sides has been strengthened in recent times. He affirmed that the leaders of the Vietnamese Party and State always pay attention to consolidating and promoting cooperation with China in all fields, especially in agriculture and environment.
Minister Tran Duc Thang affirmed that China is a very important import and export market for Vietnam. Specifically, statistics on import and export turnover for the first 10 months of 2025 were presented.
During the meeting, Minister Tran Duc Thang and Mr. Trieu Tang Lien also exchanged views on several professional issues related to the import and export of agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products between the two countries.
Over the years, fresh jackfruit has been one of Vietnam's important export items, along with durian, dragon fruit, bananas, etc. This protocol will create more opportunities for the export of jackfruit as well as Vietnamese fruits and vegetables in the future.
