The initiative "Water cooling system for steel rolling line" by Mr. Nguyen Trong Viet, an employee of the Technical - Electromechanical Department (Thai Trung Steel Rolling Joint Stock Company) is considered very effective.

To overcome the limitations of machine age and find a sustainable direction, the Board of Directors of Luu Xa Steel Plant focuses on promoting the creative thinking of workers through technical initiatives. Here, each year, dozens of initiatives are born, many of which have been immediately applied to production practices.

One of the initiatives of worker Trinh Minh Tuan, Production Team Leader, Foundry Workshop, is “Increasing the pressure of hydraulic cylinders for billet rolling line” which has been highly appreciated and put into practical application for many years. This initiative has helped stabilize the compressed air pressure during the rolling process and overcome the sudden pressure drop, causing interruption in the operation of the steel billet rolling line.

Mr. Tuan said: During the operation, I noticed that the line was often clogged, affecting production, so I researched and added a pressure tank system to lift all 4 cylinders at the same time, which both increased capacity and stabilized the line. When the topic was applied in practice, I was very happy...

Similarly, the movement to promote initiatives and technical improvements is also promoted by Thai Trung Steel Rolling Joint Stock Company. According to records, each year the Company receives from 10 to 15 topics and initiatives from staff and workers. Of these, nearly 50% of the initiatives are evaluated as feasible and immediately implemented into actual production.

These topics have helped the Company reduce raw materials, optimize processes, reduce energy consumption, thereby bringing about economic efficiency and significantly liberating labor, while contributing to stabilizing employment for workers.

When put into use, it has overcome the disadvantages of the old system that often causes congestion, reduces cooling efficiency, affects the quality of billets and increases the risk of equipment failure. Mr. Viet said: Thanks to this initiative, I was awarded a Certificate of Innovation by Vietnam Steel Corporation.

Currently, at these two units, the promotion of technical innovations is included in the annual competition plan. Topics and initiatives with high applicability will be evaluated, appraised and implemented immediately.

The Board of Directors always encourages and creates all conditions for workers to promote creativity, and at the same time has a bonus mechanism to promptly recognize and spread the spirit of creativity among all officers and employees.

Mr. Bui Trong Bac, Deputy Director of Luu Xa Steel Plant, shared: This year, the Plant was assigned by the Company to produce 255 thousand tons of steel billets. In addition to solutions to optimize the production process, the initiatives and technical improvements of workers applied in the past have contributed to ensuring a stable production line, increasing capacity, helping the Plant complete the plan for the first 6 months of the year.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi, Deputy Director of Thai Trung Steel Rolling Joint Stock Company, said: It is undeniable that the effectiveness of the topics and initiatives of the workers that have been put into practice. Because they have contributed to increasing the competitiveness of the company's steel products in the market.

The application of technical innovations to production not only brings practical economic value, but also demonstrates the innovation of thinking and sense of responsibility of workers in production. Each innovation topic is not only a technical solution, but also the crystallization of intelligence and spirit of solidarity with the collective. Workers like Mr. Trinh Minh Tuan or Mr. Nguyen Trong Viet are proof of a generation of technical workers with qualifications, creativity and dedication to the profession.
