As member units of Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Joint Stock Company, Luu Xa Steel Mill and Thai Trung Steel Rolling Joint Stock Company recognize that in the context of fierce competition and rising production costs, promoting initiatives and technical improvements is a practical way to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase competitiveness.

The initiative "Water cooling system for steel rolling mill lines" by Mr. Nguyen Trong Viet, an employee of the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Department (Thai Trung Steel Rolling Joint Stock Company), has been highly praised for its effectiveness.

To overcome the limitations of machinery age and find a sustainable path forward, the leadership of the Luu Xa Steel Mill focuses on fostering the creative thinking of its workers through technical innovations. Here, dozens of innovations are developed each year, many of which are immediately applied to production.

One of the initiatives of worker Trinh Minh Tuan, Production Team Leader, Foundry Workshop, is "Increasing the pressure of the hydraulic compressor for the billet rolling line," which has been highly appreciated and put into practical application for many years. This initiative has helped stabilize compressed air pressure during the rolling process and overcome the problem of sudden pressure drops, causing interruptions in the operation of the steel billet rolling line.

Mr. Tuan said: "During operation, I noticed that the production line often became congested, affecting production. I researched and added a pressure tank system to be able to lift all four cylinders simultaneously. This both increased capacity and stabilized the production line. I was very happy when the project was applied in practice..."

Similarly, the movement to promote initiatives and technical improvements is also being actively implemented by Thai Trung Steel Rolling Joint Stock Company. According to records, the company receives 10 to 15 projects and initiatives from its employees each year. Of these, nearly 50% are deemed feasible and immediately implemented in production.

These initiatives have helped the company reduce raw materials, optimize processes, and decrease energy consumption, thereby bringing about significant economic benefits and freeing up labor, while also contributing to job stability for employees.

The initiative "Water cooling system for steel rolling mill lines" by Mr. Nguyen Trong Viet, an employee of the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Department (Thai Trung Steel Rolling Joint Stock Company), has been highly praised for its effectiveness. When implemented, it has overcome the shortcomings of the old system, which often caused blockages, reduced cooling efficiency, affected billet quality, and increased the risk of equipment failure. Mr. Viet stated: "Thanks to this initiative, I was awarded a Certificate of Innovation by the Vietnam Steel Corporation."

Currently, at these two units, the promotion of technical innovations is included in the annual emulation plan. Projects and innovations with high applicability will be evaluated, assessed, and implemented immediately.

The management always encourages and creates all the conditions for workers to unleash their creativity, and also has a system of immediate rewards to promptly recognize and spread the spirit of creativity among all staff and workers.

Mr. Bui Trong Bac, Deputy Director of Luu Xa Steel Mill, shared: This year, the factory was assigned a production target of 255,000 tons of steel billets by the company. Besides solutions aimed at optimizing the production process, the initiatives and technical improvements implemented by the workers over the past period have contributed to ensuring a stable production line, increasing capacity, and helping the factory complete its plan for the first six months of the year.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi, Deputy Director of Thai Trung Steel Rolling Joint Stock Company, said: "The effectiveness of the projects and initiatives of our employees that have been implemented is undeniable. They have contributed to increasing the competitiveness of our steel products in the market."

The application of technical innovations in production not only brings practical economic value but also demonstrates the innovative thinking and sense of responsibility of workers in production. Each innovative project is not just a technical solution, but also the culmination of intelligence and a spirit of collective commitment. Workers like Mr. Trinh Minh Tuan and Mr. Nguyen Trong Viet are proof of a generation of skilled, creative, and dedicated technical workers.
