On the afternoon of November 14, Dr. Huynh Nhu Dong, Head of the Department of Neurosurgery, Central Highlands General Hospital, said that the hospital had just successfully performed emergency surgery on a patient who was shot in the head.
According to doctor Huynh Nhu Dong, previously, at about 18:13 p.m. on November 11, the hospital received patient D.GB (12 years old, residing in Ea Kar town, Ea Kar district, Dak Lak) with a head wound. The family claimed to have been hit by a homemade gun bullet. The patient was diagnosed with traumatic brain injury caused by fire, bilateral temporal skull fractures, bilateral subdural hematoma, brain contusion, and cerebral hemorrhage. The doctors and nurses performed emergency surgery for more than 2 hours and removed a bullet measuring 2x3mm.

According to B.'s mother, on the afternoon of November 13, B. came home from school and went to a friend's house to play, then an incident occurred where he was shot in the head. “I was going to work when I heard my relatives call to say that B. had been shot in the head. I rushed home to take my child to the emergency room, so the cause of this incident is still unclear," B.'s mother said.
Doctor Huynh Nhu Dong also said that after surgery, the patient is now out of danger, has good consciousness, knows pain and is being closely monitored. Currently, B. is being given high doses of antibiotics to quickly recover.
