The University of Health Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) recently held a ceremony to announce and award the decision to appoint the school's principal and vice principal.
Accordingly, Prof. Dr. Phan Bach Thang was appointed as Principal; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Anh Vu Thuy, Head of the Faculty of Dentistry, holds the position of Vice Principal and MSc. Nguyen Hoang Dung - interim Vice Principal - also holds the position of Vice Principal.
In addition, the University of Health Sciences also appointed Prof. Dr. Dang Van Phuoc as the school's Honorary Rector. Thus, the school has two rectors: Prof. Dr. Phan Bach Thang and Prof. Dr. Dang Van Phuoc.

According to the University of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Phan Bach Thang was born in 1979, from Thai Binh (old). He received his PhD in Advanced Materials Science & Technology from Sungkyunkwan University (Korea) in 2009, then was appointed professor of Physics in 2022.
Since 2009, Professor Thang has had a lot of management experience from department level, faculty level, to head of affiliated units.
In professional work, Prof. Dr. Phan Bach Thang also has a lot of experience in training, chairing, participating in scientific research topics and has many scientific publications and inventions related to the field of health science.
To date, he has published more than 200 articles in SCIE journals (10 international publications published in scientific journals listed in the Nature index); co-authored 2 international inventions (USA, Korea), edited a monograph; successfully trained 5 PhDs and has an HIndex = 30.

According to the State Council of Professors, Prof. Dr. Dang Van Phuoc was born in 1947. He graduated with a doctorate in medicine in 1989 from the Institute of Medical Training (Germany). In 1996, he was appointed associate professor and then professor in 2003.
Professor Dang Van Phuoc's expertise is Internal Medicine - Cardiology. He used to be an Advisor to the Board of Directors at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, Head of the Faculty of Medicine at Ho Chi Minh City National University, and Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
Regarding training and research, he has 5 monographs and 5 textbooks as editor-in-chief; 64 articles in domestic journals and 4 articles published in international journals. In addition, Professor Phuoc has chaired/directed one state-level project, 6 ministerial-level projects, and has participated in the main supervision of 34 doctoral students.
After only one year of operation, the University of Health Sciences has quickly completed its organizational structure including the Party Committee, the School Council and the Board of Directors with 7 members, including:

- Prof. Dr. Le Minh Tri - Interim Vice Principal
- Prof. Dr. Tran Quyet Tien - Interim Vice Principal
Along with the organizational work, the school has also assigned tasks to 84 heads and deputy heads of departments, including the participation of 34 managers, former leaders of large medical units such as the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health , research institutes and frontline hospitals. The professional system currently includes 5 faculties: Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Traditional Medicine and Nursing.
