A department head in Bac Lieu has resigned, demanding to be paid 56 months' salary.

On November 14th, the Department of Science and Technology of Bac Lieu province confirmed that Mr. LDT, a department head at the Center for Application of Advanced Science and Technology of Bac Lieu province (hereinafter referred to as the Center), had submitted a resignation letter.

According to his resignation letter, Mr. T. was recruited by the Bac Lieu Provincial Department of Science and Technology at the center in late 2010 and consistently performed his assigned duties well.

However, from 2019 to the present, the center still owes Mr. T. 56 months of salary and insurance.

Since the beginning of 2023, the center has not received approval for its operating mechanism, so Mr. T. no longer wishes to work there. He requests that the center settle his 56 months of salary and pay his insurance contributions in full as required by law.

According to the center, paying Mr. T.'s salary and insurance is beyond the center's capacity to handle.

The center claims that for many months, it has not received approval from the competent authorities for its operating mechanism, has not been assigned any tasks, and has been unable to resume production and business due to a lack of capital.

On November 14th, in an interview with Dan Tri newspaper, a leader of the Bac Lieu Provincial Department of Science and Technology stated that Mr. T. had submitted a resignation letter.

"The Department is currently reporting to and seeking guidance from the Provincial People's Committee to resolve some issues at the center. Therefore, we are not considering Mr. T.'s resignation at this time," the leader said.
