According to former football legend Gary Neville, Mason Mount seemed to disappear when Tino Livramento beat him in the Manchester United - Newcastle match on November 1st.
In the 28th minute, after winning the ball back in Newcastle's half, Livramento dribbled past Mount in a one-on-one situation. The 20-year-old full-back then advanced into the center and set up Miguel Almiron to equalize.
"Mount was practically invisible," said former Man Utd defender Gary Neville after the League Cup fourth-round match.

Mount's lackluster tackle also caused a stir on social media. Many users joked that the Man Utd shirt was so tight that Mount looked tiny and couldn't win the ball. "If only Mount's shirt wasn't so tight, Livramento wouldn't have been able to get past him as if Mount wasn't even there," wrote Paddy Power.
Some other fans questioned Mount's ability. They argued that Mount gave Livramento such an easy run that he practically walked past him. "Livramento opened our eyes," one user wrote on social media . "He dribbled as if Mount was nothing."
Last summer, Mount joined Man Utd from Chelsea for $70 million. However, not long after the transfer, the 24-year-old midfielder suffered an injury. He has only played nine games for his new team, providing one assist and yet to score a goal. Prior to that, Mount scored 33 goals and provided 37 assists in 195 appearances for Chelsea, and scored five goals in 36 appearances for England.
The defeat to Newcastle on November 1st deepened Manchester United's crisis. After almost three months into the season, the "Red Devils" have been eliminated from the League Cup, a competition they beat Newcastle 2-0 in the final last season, are eighth after 10 Premier League rounds, and third after three matches in Group A of the Champions League.
Erik Ten Hag's future as manager is becoming uncertain. According to former player Paul Merson, the Dutch coach has lost the trust of his players. If he cannot salvage the situation in the next three matches against Fulham, Copenhagen, and Luton Town, he could be sacked.
