MU reached an agreement to recruit Benjamin Sesko

TPO - Man United agreed to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig for 76.5 million euros. The "Red Devils" have surpassed Newcastle United to own the Slovenian striker.

Benjamin Sesko is Man United's fourth signing this summer.

According to The Athletic, Man United will pay RB Leipzig 76.5 million euros and 8.5 million euros in additional fees depending on the Slovenian striker's performance at the new team. Sesko will travel to Manchester for a medical to sign a contract with Man United. He is the fourth contract this summer for coach Ruben Amorim.

Sesko's arrival will take United's total spending to £214m, following the signings of Matheus Cunha, Diego Leon and Bryan Mbeumo. Sesko will be an integral part of Amorim's attacking trio, alongside Cunha and Mbeumo, as United look to improve their goalscoring record. In the 2024/2025 Premier League, the Manchester team has a very modest scoring record, with 44 goals in 38 matches.

The Athletic rates the 22-year-old Slovenian striker as the biggest, roughest and brightest diamond playing in Europe's top 5 leagues.

The summer of 2025 marks the third time Man United have been interested in him. The first was in 2019 when he burst onto the scene at NK Domzale's first team at the age of 16, and the second was in the 2022/23 season when the Slovenian scored 16 goals in 30 games for Red Bull Salzburg.

The Athletic believes that Sesko is a powerful striker with impressive pace and sharp finishing ability. He is the type of striker that central defenders are afraid to face. Sesko has the potential to reach the level of superstar Erling Haaland.

United are still looking for a central midfielder, but sales will be crucial after their huge spending spree. Sesko's arrival would throw Højlund's future into doubt. United are willing to sell or loan the striker. The Red Devils are still in the process of cleaning up their squad, trying to offload Antony, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia.
