Heavy rain due to the influence of a low-pressure system.

On the morning of May 31st, many areas across the province experienced localized heavy rainfall. Several roads in the Nha Trang area were flooded, causing difficulties for residents. Mr. Nguyen Hong Truong, Director of the Khanh Hoa Meteorological and Hydrological Station, said that a low-pressure area had formed in the province, causing localized rain. The rain mainly occurred in coastal areas and would soon end.

Previously, according to the 8:00 AM bulletin on May 31st from the Provincial Meteorological and Hydrological Station, over the past 6 hours, convective clouds developed in the following communes and wards: Anh Dung, Ba Ngoi, Bac Ai, Bac Ai Dong, Bac Ai Tay, Bao An, Bac Cam Ranh, Bac Khanh Vinh, Bac Nha Trang, Ca Na, Cam An, Cam Hiep, Cam Lam, Cam Linh, Cam Ranh, Cong Hai, Do Vinh, Dong Hai, Dong Khanh Son, Dong Ninh Hoa, Khanh Son, Lam Son, My Son, Nam Cam Ranh, Nam Khanh Vinh, Nam Nha Trang, Nha Trang, Ninh Chu, Ninh Hai, Ninh Phuoc, Ninh Son, Phan Rang, Phuoc Dinh, Phuoc Ha, Phuoc Hau, Phuoc Huu, Suoi Dau, Tay Khanh Son, Tay Khanh Vinh, Tay Ninh Hoa, Thuan Bac, Thuan Nam, Trung Khanh Vinh, Vinh Hai, Xuan Hai, and coastal areas. Over the next 6 hours, convective clouds will continue to develop strongly, causing showers and thunderstorms in the aforementioned areas, then spreading throughout the province, including coastal regions. During thunderstorms, be wary of lightning, squalls, tornadoes, hailstorms, and strong gusts of wind; water will flow rapidly over spillways and overflows.

At sea, the 10:00 AM bulletin on May 31st from the Provincial Meteorological and Hydrological Station indicated showers and thunderstorms in the offshore waters, including the Truong Sa Special Economic Zone. The forecast for May 31st, both day and night, indicates continued scattered showers and thunderstorms in the offshore waters, including the Truong Sa Special Economic Zone; during thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind (levels 6 and 7), and waves exceeding 2 meters. Additionally, in the western part of the South China Sea (including the western Truong Sa Special Economic Zone), there will be southwest winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7; rough seas with waves 1.5 to 2.5 meters high. All vessels operating in these areas are at high risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.

According to expert assessments, from May 31st to June 2nd, the weather in the province will be mostly cloudy to mostly cloudy, with intermittent sunshine. Rainfall is forecast for May 31st to be between 15 and 30mm, with some areas receiving over 80mm; rainfall on June 1st and 2nd is expected to be below 10mm.
