According to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc, the Via Ba Chua Xu festival at Sam Mountain is an event that attracts a large number of tourists and local people. To promote the festival, relevant departments and localities are utilizing information technology and digital transformation solutions to ensure that images and information about the festival appear on multiple platforms. In particular, it is necessary to create a smart virtual reality tourism platform, VR360, about the festival, to be uploaded via mobile applications and websites. Media outlets should produce feature reports to prominently promote the festival, affirming the value of this intangible cultural heritage representing humanity.
This year's ceremonial part includes traditional rituals, reflecting the essence of a century-old festival, characteristic of the Vinh Te - Mount Sam region. Important ceremonies include: the reenactment of the procession of the statue of the Lady of the Mountain Sam and the street festival; the bathing of the Lady; the rituals of inviting the divine spirit, the offering ceremony and the ceremonial procession, the main sacrificial ceremony, and the return of the divine spirit, all organized according to annual traditions. The festival part features many unique activities for locals and tourists. This is the first year that Vinh Te ward has been assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to preside over the organization of the festival. The local authorities have proactively assigned specific tasks to various departments, units, and organizations.
According to Ngo Thi My Ngoc, Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Vinh Te Ward: "The highlight of this year's festival activities is the organization of three consecutive nights of cultural performances featuring many A-list artists from Ho Chi Minh City, each night with a different theme. In addition, there will be an artistic fireworks display to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere for residents and tourists attending the festival."
Vinh Te Ward organized 26 stalls displaying OCOP products and typical goods of the province, along with diverse culinary activities to serve tourists. Leading up to the festival, the locality organized cultural, artistic, and sports activities; held kite-flying competitions, performances, and calligraphy demonstrations to diversify the experiences of tourists and locals visiting Vinh Te and Mount Sam. “We closely coordinated with the Party Committee and People's Committee of Chau Doc Ward in logistics, mobilizing forces to participate in activities in this year's festival program; and organized the donation of 200 gifts to people in difficult circumstances in Vinh Te and Chau Doc wards to spread the humanitarian values of the festival,” said Ms. Ngo Thi My Ngoc.
Currently, preparations for the festival are being carried out urgently. The People's Committee of Vinh Te Ward is implementing urban beautification and environmental sanitation work to create a pleasant appearance. The local authorities are organizing inter-agency inspection teams to check food safety and hygiene, and price listing to ensure civilized commerce and create satisfaction for tourists. Security, order, and fire prevention and control are also being strengthened. The local authorities have announced a hotline and established a Zalo group to promptly receive and handle reports from the public.
As the unit assigned to perform the traditional rituals in this year's festival, the Management Board of the Sam Mountain Mausoleum is finalizing preparations. Nguyen Phuc Hoan, Head of the Management Board of the Sam Mountain Mausoleum, shared: “We are meticulously developing a script for each ceremony, from the location map, MC script, prayers… to ensure solemnity and highlight the community cultural aspects of the ceremonies. The overall spirit is to preserve the essence and unique cultural beauty of the Sam Mountain Lady Festival, which has existed for hundreds of years.”
