In customs work, Customs Branch of Region XVIII (HQKV 18) focused on implementing synchronous solutions to promote import and export activities of goods, basically completing the assigned tasks well.
CONTROL OF CUSTOMS ACTIVITIES IN THE NEW SITUATION
In the first 6 months of the year, Vietnam continued to maintain positive growth momentum. In particular, with the strong direction from Party and State leaders at all levels, the entire political system is focusing all its efforts on deploying and reorganizing the apparatus, while implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation. In the field of customs, many policies to support businesses have been promoted, contributing to improving the business environment, creating momentum for production and export development. This is the key factor helping businesses feel secure in their operations and increasing the attraction of foreign-invested projects in Dong Nai.
From July 1, 2025, Dong Nai province has 5 border customs offices, including 1 international border customs office, Hoa Lu International Border Customs Office (formerly Binh Phuoc province), 2 seaport customs offices (Dong Nai Port Border Customs Office and Nhon Trach Port Border Customs Office, formerly Dong Nai province). During the merger process, the Regional Customs Department 18 always closely follows the arrangement direction according to the direction of the leaders at all levels; at the same time, determines the goals, requirements, tasks and implementation deadlines for each specific task of the units, in order to ensure strict implementation of the Party and State's instructions and directions on streamlining the organizational apparatus.
In the first 6 months of 2025, Customs Sub-Department of Region 18 handled 292 cases of administrative violations in the customs sector, collecting fines of 19.5 billion VND. The violations were mainly false declarations during the implementation of customs administrative procedures. There were no violations of smuggling or trade fraud. |
Up to now, all units have received their tasks, powers, obligations, responsibilities, headquarters, and management areas according to regulations, ensuring no interruption of work and no impact on the handling of customs procedures. In addition, the customs sector has also reviewed the content of problems, monitored new limitations and problems to report and advise the leaders of the Customs Department to promptly have effective solutions throughout the process of merging and operating under the 2-level local government model.
In 6 months, Customs Sub-Department of Region 18 processed over 654 thousand customs declarations, an increase of 12.5% over the same period in 2024, import-export turnover reached over 17 billion USD, an increase of 18% over the same period. State budget revenue in the import-export sector reached over 11 trillion VND, equal to 51% of the assigned target.
INCREASING CONNECTION BETWEEN CUSTOMS AND BUSINESSES
The customs sector has received and resolved administrative procedures, directly digitized records, and resolved administrative procedure results in accordance with regulations, ensuring that 100% of relevant administrative procedures have been deployed by ministries and branches on the National Single Window System; 100% of customs declarations arising are received and resolved electronically. Achieving 100% of total state budget revenue from customs duties, late tax payment penalties, tax determination, and administrative violation penalties implemented through the 24/7 electronic tax collection system.
Honorary President of the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce in Dong Nai Ngo Minh Dinh shared that over the years, during the investment, production and business activities in Dong Nai, Taiwanese enterprises have had a good relationship with the customs force. Enterprises promptly grasp new regulations and relevant information on the customs sector through meetings, dialogues, communication channels, and information exchange between the customs sector and enterprises in a very timely and professional manner.
In addition, the customs sector has maintained and proactively connected and listened to opinions from businesses. Timely grasped the difficulties and problems of businesses in the process of production and business activities, thereby having a direction to support and actively resolve problems that businesses are still facing in the process of operating and implementing customs procedures in Dong Nai.
Sharing about customs work in the coming time, Head of Regional Customs Branch 18 Le Van Thung commented that when implementing the merger of the two provinces of Dong Nai (old) and Binh Phuoc (old), the customs sector has taken steps to implement tasks in the new period. In the coming time, when the Ministry of Finance and the Customs Department have instructions, Dong Nai Customs will continue to carry out assigned tasks. Ensure strict implementation of digital transformation in the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation. Promote administrative procedure reform in the customs sector to serve businesses. In particular, in 2025, the customs sector must ensure good service for businesses and complete tasks to contribute to the province's double-digit economic growth.
