Ms. Kim Thi Chuong received support to build a house and obtain breeding cattle, and is striving to improve her life.
In her new home, measuring nearly 50 square meters , Mrs. Chuong shared: “My husband and I work as laborers to earn a living and raise our children. Last year, the commune and hamlet supported our family in building a sturdy brick house, and we also received a breeding cow to develop livestock farming. Thanks to that, our family life is less difficult than before.”
According to Mr. Thach Thanh, Secretary of the An Khuong Hamlet Party Branch, the hamlet has 572 households and 2,334 inhabitants, of which nearly 400 households and 1,600 inhabitants are Khmer ethnic minorities. Over the years, the Party Branch has played a pivotal role in understanding the thoughts and aspirations of the people and mobilizing them to participate in emulation movements, effectively implementing the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws. The locality has acknowledged the needs and requests of the people, supporting them with loans of billions of dong from the Social Policy Bank to develop family economies ; and requested support for 45 breeding cows for 29 households. The Party Branch has directed its members to propagate and encourage people to change the crop structure, introducing export-quality rice varieties into production on nearly 100 hectares of rice fields, planting 15 hectares of vegetables intercropped in gardens, and renovating 40 hectares of low-yield gardens to plant pomelos, lemons, jackfruit, longan, and plums...
Along with supporting economic development, the An Khuong Hamlet Party Branch directs cadres and Party members to effectively implement social welfare policies. From 2020 to the present, the Party Branch has mobilized resources to support the construction of 55 solidarity houses; each year, it mobilizes more than 100 gifts worth 30-40 million VND to donate to policy beneficiary families, poor households, and disadvantaged households during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year). The Party Branch directs the promotion of propaganda and mobilization of people to actively build a cultural life in residential areas; eliminate backward customs...
The An Khuong hamlet Party branch also focused on directing and mobilizing resources to build transportation infrastructure. This included encouraging residents to relocate structures, trees, and crops to donate land, working alongside the government to upgrade and expand the main road in the hamlet, which is 700m long and 3.5m wide; upgrading and expanding 7 alleyways nearly 2,000m long and 2m wide; building the Bung Tuc bridge, 35m long and 3.5m wide, and repairing 3 other bridges; and installing streetlights on many roads... contributing to improving the criteria for new rural development. Mr. Thach Son, a resident of the hamlet, happily said: “Previously, transporting agricultural products was very difficult, especially during the rainy season. Therefore, when the local authorities mobilized for road construction, my family agreed to donate land and participate in labor. Now, the bridges and roads in the hamlet are spacious, making travel and transportation of goods much easier.”
Thanks to the dynamic leadership of the Party Branch, the lives of the people in An Khuong hamlet have improved; the number of poor and near-poor households has decreased year by year. The hamlet maintains its title of "Cultural Hamlet" and "3 No's"; over 97% of households meet the "Cultural Family" standard. For many consecutive years, the Party Branch has been evaluated as performing its duties well or better, and in 2023 and 2024 it was evaluated as performing its duties excellently.
