Young workers play a crucial role in realizing the country's double-digit economic growth targets with their creativity, adaptability, and rapid access to science and technology.

Hundreds of young workers participated in the "Gathering Youth - Spreading Passion" race in Bac Giang.

Vietnam currently has approximately 16 million workers, present in all economic sectors, industries, and fields of production, business, and services. Among them, young workers play a crucial role in realizing the country's double-digit economic growth targets with their creativity, adaptability, and rapid adoption of science and technology.

Over the years, the Party and State of Vietnam have implemented numerous policies to support workers in general, and young workers in particular, focusing on stabilizing their lives and improving their skills so that they can become important links in the economic system. Recently, the Politburo 's issuance of Resolution 68 on the development of the private economy has further created a strong impetus for the country's economic growth, while also opening up many job opportunities for young people.

To concretize the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State, the Youth Union has coordinated with the Youth Federation at all levels to implement the work of caring for and supporting young workers in industrial zones, export processing zones, and rented accommodations, focusing on creating healthy and beneficial recreational spaces and effective physical training. From this, the front of solidarity and mobilization of young people has been continuously expanded through the establishment of new Youth Union and Youth Federation branches in industrial zones and export processing zones, as well as cultural, artistic, and sports clubs according to the talents of young people.

Continuing its series of activities to care for and support young workers, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, in coordination with TCP Vietnam Company, recently inaugurated the "Young Workers - Spreading Positive Energy" festival series in 2025 in Bac Giang city, marking the beginning of a series of programs taking place consecutively in May - Workers' Month - in Dong Nai and Nghe An provinces.

The enthusiastic young workers competed on the badminton court as part of the festival.

The event kicked off with the "Gathering Youth - Spreading Passion" race, attracting thousands of young workers from the local area and neighboring provinces and cities. Tran Thu Huong, a textile worker from Bac Giang, one of the first to cross the finish line, excitedly shared: "Because we work in shifts, we don't have much time to exercise, especially in a team competition. For the past few months, I and some female colleagues at the factory have been jogging every day. When we heard about the race, we all immediately registered and had a memorable experience."

More than just a vibrant sporting event with various competitions such as running, football, badminton, and traditional games, the festival also incorporates many wholesome activities such as an online photo contest, a talent search for young workers, and especially a music festival featuring many famous young artists, along with a raffle for motorbikes and household appliances. Within the framework of the festival, the organizers also coordinated with relevant units to conduct free medical examinations and distribute free medicine to young workers and local residents; and provided cash and gifts to support young workers in difficult circumstances.

Nguyen Tuong Lam, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and President of the Vietnam Youth Union, stated: The Resolution of the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union has identified "Uniting and gathering young workers and laborers in the period 2024-2029" as one of the two key tasks of all levels of the Union, with the "Young Workers' Festival" as the flagship activity.

“Organized annually since 2023, the event has so far attracted a total of over 60,000 young workers nationwide; provided medical examinations and gifts to nearly 30,000 people, and opened more than 200 discount and free stalls serving workers. The Vietnam Youth Union hopes that this model will be replicated in all levels of the Union nationwide, creating a system of accompanying programs, an attractive meeting point, and a common home for young workers,” Comrade Nguyen Tuong Lam shared.
