Global cybersecurity company Kaspersky, in collaboration with the Vietnam Information Security Agency (VISA) under the Ministry of Information and Communications, is organizing an annual event to exchange expertise and practice coordinating strategies to respond to cyber threats, as part of activities aimed at enhancing Vietnam's cybersecurity defense capabilities.
This year's event focused on "Cyberattack Defense: Enhancing Business Response Capabilities," aiming to support businesses in addressing complex and rapidly evolving cybersecurity threats in the digital environment. At the event, Kaspersky conducted a Kaspersky Interactive Protection Simulation (KIPS) session for business leaders and technical teams, challenging cybersecurity decision-makers and raising awareness of the importance of collaboration across different departments within the enterprise.
Genie Sugene Gan, Director of Government Relations and Public Policy for Asia Pacific, Japan, the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa at Kaspersky, said: "Cybersecurity is not just the responsibility of technical teams, but must be considered a concern for all departments and divisions within the enterprise, starting with senior leadership making strategic decisions and implementing comprehensive measures to protect the overall operations and data of the business."
Mr. Le Van Tuan, Director of the Cybersecurity Department, acknowledged the long-standing partnership between Kaspersky and the Cybersecurity Department, noting that "Kaspersky has made significant contributions to the cybersecurity ecosystem in Vietnam through sharing expertise and valuable information to help the Cybersecurity Department ensure cybersecurity. This year's KIPS training course marks a step forward in building cybersecurity capacity, making an important contribution to a safer digital future."
According to the Cybersecurity Agency, cyberattacks have seen a significant increase in recent months, with 1,723 cyberattacks in June 2024 alone, a 46.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Responding to these incidents requires businesses to continuously implement response and alert procedures to ensure the safety of their assets and business information. Therefore, businesses need to be equipped with the means to establish protocols to counter cyberattacks.
