In April 2025, Ms. H'Zuýt Êban, a female member of the N'Drếch village Women's Union, received a breeding cow from the Women's Union of the commune. Just one month later, the cow gave birth to a calf, opening up hope for a livelihood for her family.

The women's association in the village also diligently guided and helped Ms. H'Zuýt learn from successful livestock farming models. As a result, she has mastered everything from building barns and preventing diseases to the process of caring for breeding cows.

With a solid foundation, in September 2025, through the guarantee of the Women's Union of the commune, Ms. H Zuýt's family boldly borrowed 80 million VND from the Social Policy Bank, Buon Don Branch, to buy more cows and invest in barns. From a household struggling with precarious daily wage work, Ms. H Zuýt proactively planned production and built a sustainable livelihood for her family.

The N'Dréch village has 80 female members, but as many as 34% are classified as poor households. With the majority of these women being ethnic minorities with limited education, access to science and technology and loans is a major "barrier." Faced with this reality, the village's women's association has determined that to enhance economic empowerment, it cannot be achieved quickly through abstract slogans, but must begin with the most concrete actions, developing solutions that are within the reach and farming practices of each household.
With the support of the Women's Union of the commune, the branch has proactively mobilized resources to support its members. Currently, the N'Dréch Women's Branch is managing a credit fund with the Social Policy Bank for poor women to borrow for production development, with a total outstanding loan of over 7 billion VND/112 members, an increase of 2.2 billion VND compared to the beginning of the term in 2020. In addition, a revolving fund of 40 million VND is managed and used flexibly, creating opportunities for 15 members to borrow small amounts of capital for production and trading.

In particular, the spirit of mutual support and compassion was strongly fostered, with over 60 million VND mobilized from well-off households to provide labor, livestock, and fertilizer to families in need. These efforts have become a pillar of support for 3 impoverished members and 5 orphaned children, helping them gradually stabilize their lives.

According to Ms. Ngo Thi Dong, Head of the Women's Association in N'Drech hamlet, along with capital, equipping members with knowledge and skills is identified as a key factor. Since the beginning of the term, the Women's Union of the commune has coordinated with the Farmers' Association of the commune, the Agricultural Extension Station, etc., to organize 20 training sessions and workshops on the management and use of loan capital; livestock and crop farming techniques; composting; caring for cocoa, hybrid rice, hybrid corn, and cassava; and using pesticides safely... with 156 members participating.

Vocational training and job creation are also emphasized. The entire village has 35 members participating in vocational training courses in animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, and cattle farming. Thanks to this, the women are gradually applying scientific and technological advancements to production, utilizing livestock by-products to produce organic fertilizer, reducing input costs, increasing crop and livestock productivity, and minimizing disease risks.

Thanks to the synchronized implementation of various solutions, during the period 2020-2025, N'Dréch village had 15 households escape poverty, including 10 households headed by women. Many effective livestock farming models have become a model for women to learn from and replicate, such as the hybrid wild boar farming model of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai; the cattle farming model of Ms. H'Bua Sao and Ms. H'Den Knul; and many exemplary women in production and business such as Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung and Ms. Dang Thi Tuyet…

The Women's Union of the commune has 33 women's branches in villages and hamlets; models to support women's economic development are being implemented flexibly and appropriately for each locality. For example, the Women's Branch in Village 9, with 350 members, of which ethnic minority women account for 42%, has established two "Women's Credit and Savings" models with 35 members, a total capital of 250 million VND, supporting more than 50 members with loans for livestock farming and small-scale trading. The piggy bank savings movement has been effectively maintained, saving 17 million VND over 5 years, helping 15 poor women have additional capital to develop their businesses.

Ms. Hoang Thi Ngoc Minh, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of the commune, said that empowering women economically is not just about providing capital, but is a long-term process, starting with changing perceptions, improving capabilities, and creating conditions for women to confidently take control of their lives. Each branch has its own characteristics, and the Standing Committee of the Women's Union of the commune always closely monitors the grassroots level, selecting models suitable to the land conditions and production practices of each village and each group of women, especially poor women and ethnic minority women. Through this, they not only help women escape poverty but also confidently participate in social activities, contributing to the goal of sustainable poverty reduction in the commune.
