Developing soft skills

Recognizing that in the context of integration, professional competence is a necessary condition, but soft skills are the sufficient condition for young people to meet the demands of the labor market , the Vietnam-Korea Vocational College in Ca Mau has collaborated with Save the Children (SCI) in Vietnam to implement the "Skills for Success" project.

The most recent highlight of the project was a training program on leadership skills and thematic activity organization, held in Bac Lieu ward. The event attracted a large number of students from the Vietnam-Korea Vocational College in Ca Mau and the Ca Mau Community College. The young people participated in physical games and practical challenges to learn about teamwork and information gathering.

Over 2,000 students in Ca Mau have had access to the "Skills for Success" Project.

Ms. Chau Thi Hong Tho, Secretary of the Youth Union of Vietnam-Korea Vocational College in Ca Mau, said: “During the 2024-2026 period, the SCI organization will provide the school with over 3.5 billion VND in funding to implement 11 main activities, including basic to advanced courses such as presentation skills, teamwork, CV writing, etc. After receiving training through online courses, the model will be widely implemented for more than 2,000 students, combined with practical training organized alternately every month, creating a continuous training environment.”

According to Mr. Vu Trung Tuan, SCI Organization Coordinator, the ultimate goal of the project is not just short-term skills but a self-learning mindset. This is the sustainable foundation for young people to continuously improve themselves in various environments.
