Song Cau Town has completed the project to renovate and replace more than 2,000 trees on inner-city roads. The locality strives to plant more than 1.3 million new trees scattered throughout the town by the end of 2025. The main goal of this activity is to contribute to protecting the ecological environment, responding to climate change, improving the aesthetics and quality of life for people and ensuring sustainable development of the locality.
Dong Hoa Town has also planted nearly 284,000 trees of all kinds, striving for a public green land area of about 169 hectares. The locality also focuses all resources on building, upgrading and renovating the urban green tree system on roads, parks and median strips. In particular, from 2024 to present, Dong Hoa Town has implemented green tree projects such as planting new trees, flowers, lawns and irrigation systems on the median strip of Hung Vuong Street, National Highway 29 from the fence of Regiment 915 to the Town Medical Center; planting trees on roads in Hoa Hiep Bac, Hoa Hiep Trung, Hoa Hiep Nam and Hoa Vinh wards. All aim to increase the proportion of green land, creating urban aesthetics in the direction of green, clean and beautiful.
According to the People's Committee of Dong Hoa Town, tree planting is associated with the Project to plant 15 million trees in the town in the period of 2021-2025. Along with that, the locality plans space for tree development based on the general planning of the town approved by the Provincial People's Committee, gradually implementing the standards on urban trees of the National Assembly Standing Committee on urban classification.
Tuy Hoa City has developed and implemented a project to plant 2 million trees in the city in the 2021-2025 period. To date, the locality has planted more than 1.3 million trees of all kinds, reaching a rate of 65.4%. Of which, trees are mainly planted on roads, parks, public spaces, etc. According to Mr. Nguyen Cong Thanh, Vice Chairman of Tuy Hoa City People's Committee, planting trees is a way for the city to increase natural urban green space. Therefore, in addition to trees on roads, constructions, and residential areas, the city increases the number of parks and plans forest spaces in the city. Currently, the city is forming a chain of parks of nearly 100 hectares, helping to increase the proportion of trees to 52.3% (66.19 hectares/126.56 hectares) and moving towards a green tree standard 1.6 times higher than the regulation.
Community participation
Planting, caring for and contributing trees… always have the participation of the whole society. In particular, planting trees has become a competitive movement in units and localities; caring for and protecting trees has the active participation of people and associations; funding for purchasing seedlings, in addition to the state budget, also has capital mobilized from socialized activities.
Mr. Nguyen Khoa Khang, Head of the Economic , Infrastructure and Urban Department of Tuy Hoa City, said: Tree planting will be carried out in the period of 2022-2025 in the city from the provincial budget, city budget and socialized capital. Specifically, of the more than 1.3 million trees planted, more than 209 trees are from the state budget, the remaining trees are mainly mobilized from socialization. Typically, Phu Yen Urban Environment Joint Stock Company supports seedlings and care for 30,124 trees of all kinds, Tuy Hoa City Forest Protection Department is 659,310 trees... In addition, to increase urban green space, Tuy Hoa City People's Committee advocates mobilizing agencies, businesses and people to proactively plant trees at agencies, units, and home gardens. Regarding tree care, the city assigns departments, offices, and units according to their functions and tasks to regularly develop plans to effectively manage, preserve, care for, maintain, replant, and develop the annual green tree system in the city.
Mr. Tran Minh Hoang, Director of Phu Yen Urban Environment Joint Stock Company, said: The unit has a contract with the city to implement and is responsible for planting, caring for trees and protecting the environment in Tuy Hoa city. In recent times, the unit has actively increased the green color on roads, median strips, etc. Depending on the street space, the company plants trees appropriately in conjunction with aesthetic designs according to the theme and purpose. "A livable street space is a space filled with green trees, where there are diverse colors of flowers and leaves, natural attraction of animals from fruit trees, flower scents, and harmony between tree layers from ancient trees, low-canopy trees to green grass on the ground, etc. The liveliness of the trees will be the catalyst that brings a sense of relaxation to people and tourists when coming to Tuy Hoa", Mr. Hoang shared more.
According to Tuy Hoa City People's Committee, in order to increase green areas in the city in a professional manner, in 2024, Tuy Hoa City People's Committee organized a scientific workshop on Completing the green tree system in the city.
