A young businessman in Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) unexpectedly left a will bequeathing approximately $1 billion to football superstar Neymar – a complete stranger to him.

Brazilian media has been widely reporting that a businessman in Rio Grande do Sul has decided to leave his entire fortune to Neymar in his will.

The reason stems from the businessman's admiration for Neymar. He has no children and empathizes with the life of the Brazilian superstar.

The businessman's assets, including real estate, stocks, and business investments, are estimated to be worth over $1 billion in total. The entire fortune will be left to Brazilian superstar Neymar.

Brazilian media reported that the businessman is only in his early 30s and has refused to reveal his identity. However, his representative was confirmed to be present at the notary office to answer questions from the media.

According to CNN Brazil, the will was signed on June 12, 2023, at Notary Office No. 9 in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The drafting of the will took place in the presence of two witnesses and a substitute notary.

Speaking to Uol, the author of the will explained that the decision stemmed from a personal connection to the career of the Santos striker. He shared that he greatly admired Neymar and empathized with the Brazilian superstar's story.

The businessman explained that he decided to make a will at such a young age because he is currently experiencing serious health problems. He wishes to leave his assets to Neymar because he sees similarities between his life and Neymar's.

He further explained his reasoning for making the will: “I have endured a lot of slander. The story of Neymar and his father reminded me of my late father. But above all, he (Neymar) is not selfish, which is rare these days.”

After being reported by the Brazilian press, this information spread rapidly on social media platforms, attracting widespread attention from football fans. However, Neymar's representatives stated that they have not received any official notification regarding this will.
