In an interview with the BBC , Davide Ancelotti, son and assistant to coach Carlo Ancelotti of the Brazilian national team, affirmed that Neymar remains part of his plans.
"He is the greatest goalscorer in the team's history and absolutely has a chance. Neymar still has time to prove himself and compete for a place on the list," Davide shared.
However, Neymar's chances of being included will depend entirely on his performance and fitness in the coming period. According to reports, the official Brazil squad will be announced on May 18th, earlier than FIFA's deadline (May 30th). The final decision rests with coach Ancelotti, who has full authority to select the players.

With no more international breaks before the squad announcement, Neymar must prove himself through his performances at Santos. Over the next two months, the team will have a packed schedule across three competitions, providing the 33-year-old striker with ample opportunity to impress.
In the Brazilian National League, Santos is struggling, currently sitting 15th after 10 rounds with only 10 points. Before the World Cup begins, the team has 8 matches left to improve their position. Additionally, Santos is also participating in the Copa do Brasil, where they will face Coritiba in the 5th round with two legs at the end of April and mid-May.
