Today (January 24), Russian air defense systems repelled a major attack by Ukrainian drones targeting 13 areas, including Moscow, while Ukraine said several people in Kyiv were killed in the Russian drone attack.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 121 Ukrainian drones late on January 24th. Of these, six drones were neutralized over the Moscow region and one was shot down over the capital city.
Other regions of Russia also became targets of attack, including the area bordering Ukraine and Kursk, where Ukrainian troops have been conducting military operations since last August.
TASS reported that the Ukrainian army also launched 21 other UAVs to the Ryazan region, southeast of Moscow, and Telegram channels posted video clips showing large fires breaking out in the city.

Witnesses reported that an oil storage facility and power plant in Ryazan were hit by the attack.
Ryazan region governor Pavel Malkov announced on Telegram that the emergency services are responding to the aftermath of an airstrike. Firefighters are extinguishing a fire after debris from a UAV fell onto residential houses.
Meanwhile, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced early on January 24th that the capital's air defenses had intercepted Ukrainian drone attacks at four locations around the city. Sobyanin stated that there were no casualties within the capital.
According to the mayor, two Ukrainian UAVs en route to Moscow were shot down by air defenses in Podolsk, south of the capital. Another UAV was also dealt with in Troitsky, southwest of the capital, and in Shchyolkovo, northeast of Moscow.
Russian media, citing a statement from the Russian Federal Aviation Administration (Rosaviatsiya), reported that two Moscow airports, Vnukovo and Domodedovo, resumed normal operations after a period of disruption following the Ukrainian drone's approach. Six flights were diverted to other airports.
The Russian Ministry of Defense noted Ukrainian drone attacks in the border regions of Bryansk and Belgorod, the Crimean Peninsula, as well as Saratov, Rostov, Voronezh, Tula, Oryol, and Lipetsk.
While Ukraine launched a drone attack targeting various regions of Russia, Moscow's military also attacked the capital Kyiv with drones.
Reuters, citing Ukrainian officials, reported that the attack, carried out on January 24, killed three civilians and damaged residential and commercial buildings.
Russia has not commented on the information.
