Asia Commercial Bank (ACB ) has just announced the results of its second bond issuance in 2024. Accordingly, ACB issued bonds with code ACBL2426008 to the market with a total value of VND 1,500 billion.
The bond code was issued on August 22, 2024, with a 2-year term, and is expected to mature on August 22, 2026. The issuance interest rate is 5.5% per annum.
On the same day, Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade ( VietinBank ) also announced the raising of VND 125 billion through bonds with code CTGL2439010 in the domestic market. The issuance date is August 23, 2024, with a 15-year term, expected to mature in 2039. The issuance interest rate is 6.5% per annum.
This year, VietinBank also plans to issue two tranches of bonds to the public in 2024, totaling 80 million bonds. Each bond has a face value of VND 100,000. This is equivalent to a total value of VND 8,000 billion for both bond issuances.

The bank continuously raised funds through bond issuance in the final days of August 2024.
In both issuances, the bank plans to raise funds through two bond issues: XTG2432T2, valued at VND 3,000 billion, with an 8-year term, and CTG2343T2, valued at VND 1,000 billion, with a 10-year term.
All of the above bonds are non-convertible, unsecured bonds and meet the conditions to be included in VietinBank's Tier 2 capital according to current legal regulations.
On August 23rd, Loc Phat Vietnam Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( LPBank ) also issued bond issue LPBL2431001 with a total face value of VND 400 billion, a term of 7 years, and an expected maturity in 2031. The issuance interest rate is 7.58% per annum.
Tien Phong Commercial Joint Stock Bank (TPBank) also raised funds through two bond tranches, TPBL2434009 and TPBL2427010, with values of VND 384 billion and VND 2,000 billion respectively. Bond code TPBL2434009 was issued on August 23rd, with a 10-year term, expected to mature in 2034. The issuance interest rate is 6.68% per annum.
Lot TPBL2427010 issued on August 26th, with a 3-year term, is expected to mature in 2027. The issuance interest rate is 5.1% per annum.
Additionally, Vietnam International Commercial Bank (VIB ) announced the issuance of VND 2,000 billion in bonds (VIBL2427003) on August 28th.
The bond issue has a 3-year term, expected to mature in 2027. The issuance interest rate is 5.2% per annum.
On August 28th, Orient Commercial Bank (OCB) issued VND 600 billion worth of bonds with code OCBL2427012, a 3-year term, expected to mature in 2027. The issuance interest rate is 5.5% per annum.
OCB is one of the banks that has been most active in raising capital through bond issuance in 2024 so far.
Between June and August 2024, the bank issued a total of 13 bond tranches with a total value of VND 13,400 billion. In August 2024 alone, OCB successfully raised funds from 6 bond tranches with a total value of VND 6,600 billion.
At the same time as OCB and VIB, Vietnam Maritime Commercial Bank (MSB) successfully raised VND 1,000 billion through bond issuance code MSBL2427006. The bonds have a 3-year term and are expected to mature in 2027. The issuance interest rate is 5.3% per annum.
According to MBS Research statistics, the cumulative value of corporate bonds issued since the beginning of the year reached over VND 220,800 billion, an increase of 50.4% compared to the same period last year. The average corporate bond interest rate in the first eight months of the year is estimated at around 7%, lower than the average of 8.3% in 2023.
The banking sector remains the highest-valued bond issuer with approximately VND 159,200 billion, a 163% increase year-on-year, accounting for 72% of the total value of issued bonds, with an average interest rate of 5.5% per year and an average maturity of 4.3 years.
According to FiinRatings , commercial banks dominated the primary market with issuance value exceeding VND 27 trillion in July 2024. The banking sector continued to play a major role in bond repurchase activities last month, accounting for 90% of the total volume of nearly VND 32.1 trillion.
