Except for some banks applying a "special interest rate" policy of 9-10.5%/year for "special" customers depositing savings, not many banks list online deposit interest rates for ordinary customers above 6%/year.

If you want to enjoy this interest rate, depositors can only choose a deposit term of over 12 months, but not all banks are willing to pay depositors this interest rate.

According to statistics, there are currently only 12 banks maintaining a deposit interest rate of 6%/year, including: LPBank, HDBank, SHB , OCB, VietBank, KienlongBank, VietA Bank, NamA Bank, PVCombank, NCB, BaoViet Bank and TPBank.

However, only 4 banks listed interest rates from 6%/year for 15-month term deposits, including HDBank (6.4%/year), VietBank (6.2%/year) and NCB, BaoViet Bank (6%/year).

For 18-month term deposits, the highest interest rate is 6.5%/year belonging to HDBank. This is also the only bank that lists this interest rate among the banks today, according to the online mobilization interest rate table.

Some remaining banks also only listed interest rates of 6-6.2%/year for 18-month term deposits. Of which, VietBank and KienlongBank (6.2%/year); NamA Bank, SHB and OCB (6.1%/year); LPBank , VietA Bank, PVCombank, NCB, and BaoViet Bank (6%/year).

Meanwhile, the highest interest rate for 24-36 month terms is currently 6.4%/year and only LPBank applies this interest rate.

Customers depositing money at HDBank and SHB also enjoy interest rates of up to 6.3% for terms of 24-36 months, while the interest rates for these terms at VietBank and KienlongBank are 6.2%/year.

Interest rates for 24-36 month term deposits at VietA Bank and NamA Bank are currently 6.1%/year. The group of banks paying interest rates of 6%/year for these terms include: PVCombank, NCB, BaoViet Bank and TPBank.

At the conference to discuss solutions to remove difficulties in credit growth for production and business, promote growth and stabilize the macro economy on December 7, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Dao Minh Tu said that deposit and new lending interest rates of commercial banks have decreased by more than 2.0%/year compared to the end of 2022.

With the delayed impact of policies after adjustments to reduce operating interest rates, measures by the State Bank and commitments to reduce lending interest rates by credit institutions, it is expected that lending interest rates will continue to decrease in the coming time.
