Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry is recruiting nearly 5,000 staff.

As part of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2026, on the morning of April 3rd, the City's Department of Tourism, in coordination with the Tourism Association and the Ho Chi Minh City Employment Service Center, organized a job fair for the city's tourism sector in 2026.

The event attracted 84 participating businesses, recruiting nearly 5,000 positions both directly and online. Of these, 39 tourism businesses directly recruited approximately 2,200 workers, while 45 other businesses outsourced online recruitment for over 2,600 positions.

According to Ms. Nguyen Van Hanh Thuc, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Employment Service Center, recruitment needs are widespread across many sectors, from travel to accommodation, with the hotel sector accounting for a large proportion with positions such as chefs, waiters/waitresses, receptionists, customer service staff, restaurant managers, and food business managers…

This group includes many major brands such as Saigon Riverside Hotel Joint Venture Company, Huong Sen Hotel, Que Huong Liberty, New World Saigon Hotel, etc.

Many large travel companies such as Saigontourist , Vietravel, and Suoi Tien Tourist Area also participated in the job fair, recruiting tour operators, sales staff, event organizers, game service staff, and tour guides.

Many companies are recruiting large numbers of workers, such as: Vietnam Airlines (Vietnam Airlines) is recruiting 150 flight attendants (for Eva Airways); Vietnam Concentrix Services Co., Ltd. is recruiting 200 customer service representatives for travel apps and 100 customer service representatives for airline ticket apps; Saigon Star Joint Stock Company is recruiting 50 tour guides...

Ms. Ngo Ngoc Van Nhi, representative of the Aviation Labor Supply Joint Stock Company, said that the company is currently recruiting for flight attendant positions for Vietnam Airlines and partners such as Eva Air and China Airlines.

Successful candidates will participate in a 3-month training course in Taiwan (China) with a monthly allowance of USD 500, along with all living expenses and airfare, before signing a formal 3-year employment contract. The starting salary upon employment will be VND 40-50 million per person per month, along with benefits and policies as stipulated by Vietnamese law.

According to Ms. Bui Thi Hieu, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the tourism job fair has been organized since 2023 to connect labor supply and demand after a period of market disruption.

To date, this activity has become increasingly sophisticated, becoming an effective channel for businesses to access human resources while creating job opportunities for workers.

The exchange platform has proven effective as a direct bridge between businesses and training institutions, promoting cooperation in training, internships, and recruitment; helping businesses quickly access suitable human resources, creating practical job opportunities for students and workers, contributing to improving the efficiency of state management, linking training with market needs; and carrying profound social significance, supporting workers, especially the workforce transitioning after economic changes.

In 2026, the number of participating businesses is expected to increase by more than 30% compared to the previous year, with a wide variety of positions and increasingly competitive compensation packages.

The job exchange platform is not only addressing the issue of quantity but is also aiming to improve the quality, professionalism, and sustainability of the tourism workforce.

Arriving early at the job fair, Doan Thi Kim Cuc, a final-year student majoring in tourism management at the University of Finance and Marketing, submitted applications to three companies. Cuc said she prioritized applying for tour operator positions to gain experience, so she wasn't overly concerned about salary. However, she was still willing to switch to a tour guide role, a job that suited her interest in exploring Vietnamese culture and people.

In the context of Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry entering a new phase of development with increasingly high demands for service quality, competitiveness, and international integration, human resources are not only a supporting factor but have become a decisive element for the sustainable development of the city's tourism industry.
