May 19th: Residents of Ho Chi Minh City receive free museum admission.

To enter the museum for free on May 19th, people only need to bring their citizen identification card showing they are residents of Ho Chi Minh City.

On the afternoon of May 15th, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City held a press conference to provide information on socio -economic issues in the city.

According to information from the Department of Culture and Sports sent to the press conference, museums will offer free admission to city residents visiting the museums on May 19th.

This is one of many activities organized by Ho Chi Minh City to commemorate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), the 114th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's departure to seek a path to national salvation (June 5, 1911 - June 5, 2025), and International Museum Day on May 18.

To be eligible for free museum admission on May 19th, Truong Kim Quan, Deputy Head of the Cultural Heritage Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, stated that people only need to bring their citizen identification card proving their permanent residence in Ho Chi Minh City.

In addition to the above activities, museums carry out communication and propaganda work for International Museum Day on May 18th through mass media: promoting on the unit's Fanpage, Facebook, and Website the content and meaning of the message for International Museum Day 2025 with the theme "The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities".

Simultaneously, organize online heritage education programs in schools across Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces.

The Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City Branch is organizing a thematic exhibition titled "The South Will Forever Remember His Kindness". The exhibition includes 135 documents, images, artifacts, and quotations; the exhibition runs from May 14th to June 5th.

The Ho Chi Minh City Museum is holding a special exhibition titled "Following in the Footsteps of Uncle Ho Through Stamp and Postcard Collections". The exhibition includes 47 stamp and postcard artifacts and will be on display from May 18th to June 18th.

The Ton Duc Thang Museum is holding a special exhibition titled "Ba Son – The Flow of Time" at the Ba Son Corporation; the exhibition will run from May 19th to September 15th.

The City Museum of Fine Arts is holding a thematic exhibition titled "Telling Stories After Reunification and Interaction with Painters and Sculptors of the Liberation Painting Department (B11)". The exhibition displays 105 works including paintings, sculptures, and sketches from the museum's collection and from painters and sculptors belonging to the Liberation Fine Arts Tradition Club. The exhibition runs from May 19th to June 8th.

In addition, the War Remnants Museum organized a seminar on the topic "Synthesis of some standards in museum exhibitions"; the History Museum held a thematic exhibition "President Ho Chi Minh – life and revolutionary career".
