"Vietnam Reading Culture Festival" in Binh Thuan

"Books for me, for you" is the theme of the "Vietnam Reading Culture Festival 2023" program organized by Binh Thuan Library in coordination with provincial and city libraries belonging to the Union of Libraries in the Southeast and South Central regions.

The event will take place from December 6-8, 2023, at the Binh Thuan Library. The program includes various activities such as tours, seminars on scientific and effective reading methods and the development of reading culture with guest speakers; quizzes on topics such as "Traffic Safety for Students" and "Combating School Violence"; an emotional intelligence competition; presentations on the current STEM education program; and fun science activities. A presentation will also be given on the book: "Tears and Joy" – a memoir about the heroic years of fighting on the Eastern battlefield by Lieutenant Colonel Vu Thanh Trung, a native of Binh Thuan. In addition, mobile library vehicles from participating provinces will be open to serve attending schools.

The 2023 Vietnam Reading Culture Festival is an important cultural event for book lovers and the entire community, contributing to building an advanced Vietnamese culture rich in national identity. It also honors the value of books, affirming their position, role, and importance in social life. It celebrates readers and those involved in collecting, writing, publishing, printing, distributing, and preserving books; and raises the responsibility of all levels and sectors towards building and developing a reading culture in Vietnam.
