The program is jointly organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam and the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam, together with the Korea Tourism Organization, the Korea Creative Content Agency, the Korea Copyright Protection Agency, the Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Products Distribution Corporation, and the King Sejong Institute headquartered in Vietnam.
In 2024, the Vietnam - Korea Friendship Cultural Festival will also be held in Ho Chi Minh City.
In particular, this year's event attracted the participation of many Korean businesses operating in Vietnam such as: CJ ENM, CGV, Kakao Friends, Dook'n Dook'n... to bring the public the opportunity to directly experience Hallyu content such as: movies, K-beauty, Korean cartoon characters, etc.
In addition, the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam also cooperates with the Korea Agricultural and Food Products Distribution Corporation and Korean culinary enterprises such as Daesang, Binggrae, Otoki, Orion, Samlip, Otochick... to operate an area to introduce and promote diverse Korean cuisine . Through this, Ho Chi Minh City residents will have the opportunity to learn about and enjoy the unique features of Korean culinary culture.
The art performance program during the two days of the event will also bring special performances including: stages by popular V-pop artists such as CONGB, Ngo Lan Huong; eye-catching Taekwondo performances from the Korean National Taekwondo Team; traditional art performances combining Vietnam and Korea from the Noreum Machi Art Troupe and the Vietnamese Art Performance Troupe along with exciting performances such as K-POP cover dance, DJ show...
More than 200,000 people participated in the Vietnam-Korea cultural exchange in Ho Chi Minh City in 2024.
In addition, areas for experiencing Hanbok wearing, Korean handicrafts and cuisine, photo areas and promoting Korean tourist destinations, and many attractive folk games of both Vietnam and Korea such as spinning in circles, jumping rope, capturing the flag, blindfolded drum beating... will also be organized, bringing a space for exchange and connection for people of the two countries.
Director of the Korean Cultural Center Choi Seungjin said: “We have prepared a variety of art performances combining Vietnam and Korea and experiential activities where people can directly participate to further strengthen the friendship between the two countries through culture. In the coming time, the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam will continue to organize many rich activities in Ho Chi Minh City as well as throughout Vietnam, contributing to bringing the two countries closer together through culture.”
