Tomorrow morning (August 29th), Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) will hold the inauguration ceremony for the 500kV circuit 3 power line project from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi ( Hung Yen ).

The inauguration ceremony was held in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation, with the main venue located at the Pho Noi 500kV substation (Hung Yen province) and connecting online to eight other locations in eight provinces where the project passes through.

The inauguration ceremony is expected to be attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the main venue in Hung Yen province, along with Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha at the Ha Tinh venue and Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long at the Thanh Hoa venue.

The ceremony was also attended by leaders from relevant ministries, departments, and agencies, as well as leaders from the provinces through which the project passes. Provincial leaders at the local locations will deliver welcoming speeches and share about the project's contributions to local development.

The 500kV circuit 3 transmission line project is a crucial part of the national energy infrastructure development plan. Completing the project will increase the power transmission capacity from Central Vietnam to Northern Vietnam from 2,200MW to 5,000MW, addressing the urgent and challenging issue of electricity supply in the North.

The 500kV Quang Trach - Pho Noi circuit 3 transmission line project, invested by EVNNPT, has a total investment of approximately 22,300 billion VND and passes through 9 provinces, comprising 4 component projects.

With a total length of approximately 519 km, the project comprises 1,177 pylons; the tallest reaching 145 m, and the heaviest weighing up to 415 tons. Construction took place under various harsh weather conditions such as rain, cold, heat, storms, floods, thunderstorms, and strong winds, traversing many challenging terrains.

This project is of particular importance in enhancing the capacity of the inter-regional transmission grid connecting the North, Central, and South, contributing to ensuring electricity supply for the North and guaranteeing national energy security.

According to EVN, typically, a project of a scale similar to the 500kV circuit 3 transmission line project takes 2-3 years for investment preparation before construction can begin.

However, given the urgent and important nature of this project, the Prime Minister has issued decisive directives and requested that ministries and agencies demonstrate the highest level of responsibility, proactively participate, and coordinate closely to resolve the procedures, documents, and tasks related to the project as quickly as possible, according to their assigned functions and responsibilities.

Therefore, ministries and departments worked around the clock, even on holidays, so that in less than 5 months from the initial submission, the investment policies of the projects were approved.

* On August 28th, the People's Committee of Nghe An province also directed relevant units and localities to coordinate and make thorough preparations for the inauguration ceremony of the 500 kV circuit 3 power line tomorrow.

To prepare for the project's inauguration ceremony at the Nghe An location, the Provincial People's Committee requests that the People's Committees of districts and towns, and relevant departments and agencies, make greater and more decisive efforts in completing all items and work contents as directed by the Prime Minister.

Any unit or locality that fails to complete its tasks, thereby affecting the progress and inauguration ceremony of the project section passing through the province, will bear full responsibility before the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

In this regard, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to review matters to ensure good preparation for the project's inauguration ceremony. The Provincial Police Department will take the lead and coordinate with relevant units to develop a plan to ensure security, order, fire prevention, and firefighting during the ceremony.

The People's Committee of Nam Dan district proactively coordinated with the Central Vietnam Power Projects Management Board and relevant agencies to inspect, review, and prepare the necessary conditions for organizing the project's inauguration ceremony at the provincial venue, ensuring it was solemn, thorough, and safe.

The 500 kV circuit 3 transmission line project is a crucial part of the national energy infrastructure development plan. In Nghe An province, two component projects are being implemented: the Quang Trach - Quynh Luu 500 kV transmission line project, approximately 82.33 km long, and the Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa 500 kV transmission line project, approximately 17.5 km long. To date, the entire project has been energized and commissioned, ensuring compliance with standards and safety regulations.
