According to the report of the Tourism Management Department (Nghe An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism), it is estimated that in the first 6 months of 2025, the province welcomed about 6.2 million visitors, an increase of 113% over the same period in 2024; the number of overnight guests is estimated at 3.82 million (52% of the 2025 plan). Total revenue from tourists is estimated at nearly 18,843 billion VND, an increase of 113% over the same period in 2024, tourism revenue is estimated at 7,307 billion VND (nearly 62% of the 2025 plan).
Regarding international visitors, although the number of visitors reached about 50,800, an increase compared to the same period last year (105%), it only reached 39% of the 2025 plan. This is the tourism sector that the province is trying to promote in the near future.
Since the beginning of the year, the province has planned to carry out many large-scale festival, cultural, sports and tourism activities, creating highlights to attract tourists, such as the National Lotus Village Festival, Cua Lo Tourism Festival... Some key tourist destinations that are loved by many people: Cua Lo, Kim Lien Relic Site, Pu Mat National Park, Vinh City, Muong Thanh Green Land Dien Lam... and eco-tourism and community tourism destinations. During the peak summer season, room occupancy rates at coastal accommodation facilities are high.
The trend of green tourism, community tourism and experiential tourism continues to develop, many new tourism products are put into operation, suitable for market demand.

In the past 6 months, the province has promoted tourism promotion and linkage activities with many events: Conference "Nghe An - Thanh Hoa - Ninh Binh: Green tourism journey" held on the sidelines of the International Tourism Fair VITM Hanoi 2025; Organizing Famtrip delegations to survey new tourism products of the province; Seminar on tourism product evaluation to continue to improve Nghe An tourism destination.
Despite remarkable results, Nghe An tourism industry is still facing some bottlenecks: It has not attracted strategic and international investors to invest in large projects to change the face of tourism in the province. Some key tourism projects are almost not implemented or are implemented slowly. In particular, the direction of tourism activities in some localities has somewhat slowed down due to the impact of the reorganization of the 2-level government apparatus.
From now until the end of 2025, the provincial tourism industry aims to welcome about 6.2 million overnight visitors, including about 135,000 international visitors. Total tourism revenue for the year strives to reach about 11,900 billion VND. At the same time, the industry will advise on developing and submitting to the Provincial People's Council policies to support tourism development in Nghe An province for the period 2026 - 2030 and step up promotion, organize scientific seminars, professional competitions and domestic and foreign promotion activities to strengthen connectivity and expand the market.
According to Plan No. 33/KH-UBND dated January 16, 2025 on Nghe An tourism development in 2025 of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, the province strives to welcome a total of 6,100,000 tourists with accommodation in 2025, including 130,000 international visitors, with tourism service revenue reaching 11,800 billion VND. The plan was issued to continue effectively implementing the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025, in conjunction with the Provincial Tourism Development Action Program, aiming to build Nghe An into one of the tourism centers of the North Central region.
