That Group performed excerpts for the press release on the afternoon of June 10 in Hanoi .
The performances are surprising and exciting with each layer of sound emitted from unique and creative musical instruments, awakening the imagination and evoking the deep cultural memories of the nation.

GOm show: When pots, jars, and vats speak
GOm show uses special musical instruments that the group of authors researched and created themselves, such as: jar drum (using ceramic jars and inner tubes to create super low sound like a giant bass); lang drum (shaped like a rice cake, warm low sound like an echo from underground);
Ceramic gongs and ceramic bells (made of terracotta with unique timbre structures, each one is a separate sound entity);
Rotating pottery (resonating by rotating the mouth of the pottery, creating a soft ringing effect); clay pot lute (gentle sound reverberating from a leather-covered clay pot combined with strings)...

Performing with new and creative musical instruments from natural materials in the traditional craft of our ancestors has become the trademark of the Dan Do group. This time, the group has introduced completely new musical instruments inspired by the long-standing pottery craft of the Vietnamese people.
Artist Nguyen Quang Su - the person who created these instruments from the collective ideas of the artists of the Dan Do group - said he really enjoys exploring new instruments and sounds.
This time he and his colleagues focused on exploiting ceramic materials, instead of bamboo materials like before.
Mr. Su said that the Dan Nieu was the first thing he created. It is a musical instrument that produces sounds that help to relax the mind. However, this instrument is still greatly affected by the weather.
The ceramic bell gives a clear, holy sound, bringing a pleasant feeling.

The Dan That with new faces
Dan Do is an artist group founded more than 12 years ago, with a consistent creative journey based on indigenous materials.
All of the group's projects originate from Vietnamese materials and spirit, creating works of art that are both indigenous and contemporary.
GOm show marks a new milestone in the artistic journey of the Dan Do group, marking the continuity and transfer between two generations of artists, the experienced founders and the young generation of potential artists.

GOm show consists of 8 works, performed continuously for one hour, with only music and the movements of the artists, no MC. Music is the only language.
Each chapter in this show is a unique voice from indigenous ethnic communities such as M'Nong, Tay, Lo Lo, Nung Din, E De, Ha Nhi... combined with folk instruments, creative instruments and performance elements.
After two debut shows at the end of June, GOm show is expected to perform regularly in Hanoi on weekends, targeting mainly international tourists, with more shows next year.
