Young artist Danh Khoi - student of Dr. Trinh Huong and a special performance

Luu Danh Khoi - a young piano talent who is a student of pianist Trinh Huong - daughter of the late musician Phu Quang will perform in a special music night on the evening of June 21 at Ho Guom Theater.

At 8:00 p.m. on June 21, 2025, the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra will bring to the audience the Chopin – Rimsky-Korsakov program at the Hoan Kiem Theater.

In 2016, Luu Danh Khoi studied at the Piano Department at the Vietnam National Academy of Music under the instruction of Dr. Nguyen Trinh Huong - daughter of musician Phu Quang.

People's Artist. Associate Professor KazNUA Bui Cong Duy - Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music shared that the June 21 concert is one of the special issues of the 2025 - 2026 season introducing two promising young piano talents of Vietnam who have had very convincing academic achievements in recent years, Nguyen Duc Kien and Luu Danh Khoi. This is also one of the goals that the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra - Vietnam National Academy of Music has set in the current period to train, foster and maximize the potential of young human resources for regional and international integration.

The Hanoi Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Nayden Todorov – Music Director of the Bulgarian National Opera will perform a special concert program called Chopin-Rimsky-Korsakov with classic works by two master composers in the history of Western music.

In the first part of the program, the audience will be immersed in the profound, delicate and emotional musical world of Frédéric Chopin through two piano concertos - Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op.11 and Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op.21 .

Written when Chopin was only in his twenties, both works are the fullest expression of his Romantic musical language: aesthetic, passionate and lyrical. Two young pianists, Nguyen Duc Kien and Luu Danh Khoi, will take turns playing the solo roles in the two concertos, providing fresh and powerful interpretations.

The second part of the program will bring the audience one of the most brilliant masterpieces of Russian nationalism: Capriccio Espagnol, Op.34 by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. The work is a synthesis of rich symphonic colors and inspiration from Spanish folk music, and at the same time an opportunity for the orchestra to show off its technical virtuosity through each movement filled with performance and festive spirit.

Nguyen Duc Kien was born in 2008 in Hanoi.

Under the guidance of concertmaster Chuong Vu and guest conductor Nayden Todorov, the concert promises to be a profound and impressive artistic journey – where classical values are sublimated through the talents of young artists and the resonance of a professional orchestra.
