Bengaluru is known as the Silicon Valley of Asia, home to hundreds of global technology companies. However, the city is facing a serious infrastructure paradox.
Over 1 million office workers have to rely on water tankers instead of having access to tap water.
Even the 14.5 km journey to the technology park took nearly 4 hours due to terrible traffic jams.
The reason is that the uncontrolled pace of urbanization and construction has led to the city becoming overloaded. Bellandur Lake, once a major water source, has now become a symbol of the environmental crisis. Even though the metro is under construction, traffic congestion and water shortages remain unresolved.
Experts warn that without infrastructure improvements, Bengaluru will lose its technological appeal.
